Trade Big Al for cap space and sign Beasley?

Looks like Minny isn't going to resign Beasley and he could be our answer at the 3. A trade like this would free up 8-9 million in cap space plus the money from CJ Miles and Josh Howard.

We could sign Beasley who could help spread the floor plus we would get a good PG. Raptors do it because Aaron Gray sucks as their center and Big Al would give them a legit scoring big man.

Calderon/Harris
Hayward/Burks
Beasley/Free Agent 3 point shooter/Carroll
Millsap/Evans
Favors/Kanter

Looks like a legit starting 5 plus Harris, Burks and Kanter could make a great second unit
 
Given Beasley's history, that would be a huge risk. Potentially high reward as well, but a HUGE risk.

Not sure I would do it.
 
It's better than having no one who can start at the 3 and having a log jam at the 4 and 5...People say Beasley is cancer but the dude got caught smoking pot and that's it. Like who hasn't been high in their life before?

This is way better than the status-quo. We get rid of chucker Big Al, we sign a high risk high reward player (it doesn't necessarily have to be a long contract), we get more 3 point shooters, we get better at the PG, Hayward can move to SG..etc
 
I don't necessarily think Beasley is an awful player, but I don't think he'd fit very well here. Going forward I think we'll run a lot of pick and roll with Favors and Beas is more of a (mediocre) isolation scorer.

This trade only works for me if we get Beasley, keep Miles, keep Jefferson, get Brandon Jennings, Monta Ellis for a lineup of:

Jennings
Ellis
Miles
Beasley
Jefferson

And that team will be the essence of basketball comedy.
 
I think the risk is way worth it

PG: Calderon/Devin Harris/Tinsley
SG: Gordon Hayward/Alec Burks
SF: Michael Beasley/Anthony Morrow
PF: Paul Millsap/Derrick Favors/Jeremy Evans
C: Derrick Favors/Enes Kanter

That would be one of the most deepest lineups in the NBA...Not to mention, we would have MANY three point shooters to space the floor
