Bogey and Barnes are nearly mirror-images of each other. Both are scoring nearly the same on nearly the same splits, and both have a -1.6 DBPM, just for one basic measure of defense. An even swap would yield a pretty minor upgrade if any. Barnes is a better rebounder, but with Gobert/Whiteside both being monsters on the glass this year, and the way we play it is hard to say if that will translate that much. Grant is a better scorer and much better defender than either of them, averaging over a steal and a block this year even being a bit off. And considering our needs on perimeter D he would be a real upgrade over Bogey, and Barnes for that matter, while still being a scoring threat and a floor spacer despite his lower 3 pt percentage this year. But the point about how do we get him (or anyone really) is valid. It will take more than we can put together, for those very reasons. And frankly, I doubt the FO has it in them to make any kind of move on this level this year. We are far more likely to see them stand pat and dance with the one that brung'em, so to speak.
