Withey might be one of the better trade chips that the Jazz have. With his contract structured as is, I'd look more at moving up in the draft with him. Still hoping for a Hawks/Jazz trade that includes Burke and picks (even lightly protected) in exchange for Teague. Hood is, obviously, untouchable and Id rather not see them trade Burks at this point.

Also it seems Tiago Splitter may need surgery. Withey would be a great fit for them.

Just read Marc Gasol broke his foot. They may have some interest in Withey.

So it's been reported that he's out 'indefinitely'....


I wonder what they'll do with Mike Conley? He' hits FA at the end of the season right? If Gasol is out until the playoffs - is it time for them to 'blow it up' also?

Atl out : Teague, in : Burks
Jazz out : Burks, in : Hill
Indiana out : Hill, in : Teague

I can't believe you compare Burke to Hill, Hill actually defends pretty well. Apple and orange...

The main problem with Burke is his defense is terrible.

The whole reason they're shopping Teague is to free up time for Schroeder. Hill makes zero sense as it would leave them exactly where they are.

That's why I still think Burke + picks is a good deal for them. Burke is content coming off the bench, He'll be restricted, and let's face it, ISN'T going to get a huge offer in 2 years. Schroeder and Burks wouldn't be a bad tandem for them. Hill has got another year left. What good is that? They should just keep Teague.

I've been leaning toward your position about Teague. But I can't go with you on your analysis of Hill. Hill is consistently toward the top end of the Real +/- category, has always been known as a solid defender, is a superior catch-and-shoot player, and has legitimate length at the PG position. I'd take him for our team over Teague. (Not to mention that his age/history makes it more likely that he'd gracefully transition into a backup for Exum). A three teamer involving Burks, Teague, and Hill would be tempting.
