Trade for Giannis?

Check out this monster:
-Dame + filler/young stuff (Ryan Dunn, Pat, Tyler Smith, one Bucks 2nd*) to Utah
-Durant, Beal, and Svi to Milwaukee
-Sexton/Collins/Clarkson + Kuzma/Portis + Bucks unprotected '31 pick and '32 swap* + one Milwaukee 2nd* to Phoenix

* (Fanspo forgot to add 2032 picks)

-Phoenix gets under the 2nd apron too. They should have a bunch of cap room the following season. With all of that expiring/short money, they could probably use that juicy '31 Bucks pick (+ some late 1sts of other teams' that they have) to get themselves something nice if things line up right. They know they need to retool and this sets them up nicely for that.

-Looks like Milwaukee would still have the MLE and BAE to fill out their roster (mostly starting PG and C; maybe do one year of Monte Morris and Brook + minimum contract specialists?). Beal would have to approve but I get the feeling he might at this point, but there's a smaller more-sane deal without him in it anyway. I think this works regardless of whether Durant signs an extension or not - Milwaukee gets a bunch of cap space if it doesn't work out. They get a metric **** ton of spacing and on-ball scoring ability to compensate for/round out Giannis' weaknesses.

-For us, I really like Ryan Dunn and I think Tyler Smith is really interesting. Maybe Dame has a little bit of gas in the tank when we're done tanking, Pat gives us vet leadership without winning us games. A 2nd way down the road is nice to have.

This is a ridiculously heavy trade but I think it actually makes a lot of sense.

In before the Spurs trade Castle/whoever/picks for Giannis to pair with Victor and Fox

yup. however, if OKC loses in the playoffs, especially early - get ready for a Jalen Williams/whoever/picks for Giannis to pair with SGA and Chet.
I’m also really curious to see what the Spurs and Rockets do - they have picks I’d love to get my hands on. If Houston wants in on the KD sweepstakes, Markkanen to Phx could make some sense as part of a three team deal. Likewise, the Spurs could probably pretty easily put together a compelling package of picks for Lauri. Wemby+Castle+Fox+Lauri would be incredible.

If the planets align, I suppose it could happen:
-Houston gets cute and won’t put Amen on the table for reasons that are dumb
-we basically empty our wallet of everything else
-New Orleans through shrewd negotiation/discussion can be convinced (by essentially saying “well, Utah will otherwise save Milwaukee’s upcoming season by sending Sexton and Collins for very little and you won’t get anything in that scenario”) to part with their pick control to Milwaukee with some of our draft stuff

Yeah... how's that been going lately?

I like the stockpile talent concept but it takes too long and you don't know how your draft picks are going to turn out. We all know Utah has a problem bringing in big names in free agency so the main way to get a big name is trade or draft and hope. I don't like "hope" as a strategy.

The trade for a superstar isn't always great. Some guys are high priced and past their prime but their name draws fans. Ask the following teams how that is going.

Lakers - Doncic
Philly - Paul George
Phoenix - KD and Bradley Beal

So your approach is what then?
