Trade Gordo + Trey for the #3?

you could do whatever you wish in your scenario. I, like Alec a ton, and think his potential is still very much untapped. Alec has elite skills that are highly coveted in this new NBA. He can get to the rim at will, he can draw fouls with the best of them, and he is shooting the 3 at a 40% clip. I don't trade that. I develop that, and design my team in a way to accentuate that, i.e., move Favors, so I could design an offense for the skill sets of my wings.

It would likely require both favors and burks to get it done... Maybe favors and hood. Favors or Hayward would almost certainly have to be in the deal.

I only see you can ever post when you WANT TRADE HERO FAVORS!!!!!

I would only trade Gordon for the first or second pick... since Philly won't trade the first pick then it's really only number 2.

Gordon will stay if we want him. He will lose a lot of money by signing elsewhere... He drove a Honda Accord as a rookie making a ton of money. Gordon will not bypass money... he just won't do it. His representatives won't want him to bypass a lot of money since they get a cut.

We are in the driver's seat here and the real question is would you rather have Ingram on a rookie deal or Gordo on a megamax? or if it's the third pick it's Gordo on the megamax or Bender/Dunn/Murray/Brown?

Because it would represent a significant retool that would probably require other pieces be moved I'd rather not trade Hayward. You could talk me into Favors for #3 and other stuff (Bradley) though because we have Lyles and could find a PF to help easier than a replacement at SF.
Can't we trade gordon for picks and players? Why only picks?
Maybe Boston loves hayward enough to give us third pick and isiah thomas or something. Maybe we throw in trey burke and a future pick.

I know you weren't quoting me, but I wanted to respond to this.

If I had the third pick, I'd take Murray. I see him as BPA there. Why would I want Thomas in the mix if I already had Exum to develop as well?

Given his contract and our situation, trading Hayward probably isn't a bad idea, I just think the FO is in love with him, maybe to a fault (especially if he leaves).

The third pick, and Boston's offerings just don't entice me enough, though.

I only move hayward if we can get a star... not interested in more pieces. They likely wouldn't move IT because they'd try to keep win now type pieces. I don't love IT either... think he would be best as a super sixth man, but probably a little too good for that role. I think guys like him limit your team's ceiling because they control the ball so much. I am one who thinks we are likely to keep Hayward so I'm not as worried about losing him for nothing.

I don't see anyone past two that has a good chance of being a star. Bender? Murray? IDK. I do think the Lakers will look to move the pick for the type of stuff we have, but that it would likely be something like Hood and Favors. Seems like an overpay to many of us, but may be the only way we get a top 10 player.

I worry about him playing a full season. I don't care how good you are, if you can only play half the games then you're hurting your team more than helping.

Exum can play more than one position. One player rarely averages 48 minutes per game at a position. If exum isn't ready to go or simply isn't very good then you still have a good starting caliber pg on the team.

I think that since exum was so reluctant to try to score and seems like a good and willing passer and Thomas is a scorer first and foremost, I think they might look really good together.

If not, then hopefully the jazz would be able to trade the worse of the two of them for something good if need be.

Exum hasn't shown he can even play ONE position. He hasn't shown he can penetrate regularly. He certainly hasn't shown he can shoot.

Exactly. Like I said in my post, Thomas would be a good insurance plan in case exum never gets good at those things
