Trade Idea: Omer Asik

No. We have our starters in Favors and Kanter and Aşık would only want to start.

A few days ago McHale said he was going to start bringing Asik off the bench instead of starting him alongside Howard. Then, last night he played just 4 minutes.

That son of a bitch McHale cut his 239 game regular season consistency record by keeping him on the bench and subbing Greg ****ing Smith instead for Dwight Coward.

What an *******!!!

Ehm.. Erm.

Sorry.

About the topic.

Nope. Wouldn't be a fit for the Jazz.

I'd prefer Asik & Kanter over our current front court...

Asik is a true defensive center who fills up space and is very very long. His game perfectly compliments Kanter's tbh.

Then you'd know he's played a total of 4 minutes the last two games. Although, to be fair, it's just as much Asik has given up on Houston as he's demanded a trade again, just like he did before the season started - which shows he's smarter than Houston's front office, he knew as soon as they signed DH there wasn't room on the team for both of them. They can't be on the court at the same time (see pic below, original on Twitter here), and Asik deserves more than 10-15 mins per game as a pure backup.

Before the last season kicked off, the Rockets were still after two names even when they've signed Ömer Aşık: Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum. They intended to make one of them sign the sheet. But they gave Ömer what he wanted by topping Bulls offer. The reason for that is they could tell that their chances were not at the greatest when Dwight was talked about having the dream trip to the LA to form a crazy line-up. And Harden-Lin-Parsons have not yet shown off their great games yet, even though Harden was known to be a great baller.

So it went for the 51 % chance instead of %49 and the Rockets didn't land any of the two dominators. But that season, Ömer did his job great. Actually greater than anyone would ever have expected from him, finishing with double-double averages and 3rd best rebounder in the league on averages and the best in total rebounds. So if the Rockets landed one of those players, Ömer was still the substitute center in the team, having about 15-25 minutes in the rotation depending on his performance. He turned the chance that was given to him into golden ticket. And now the league talks about him as an easily starter in any team who doesn't have a major center. It's a frustrating time for Ömer, because he wants to keep the spotlights on him in those cold times, since he know they already started to fade away.

No place for him in Houston as long as they have a healthy Dwight. But when they don't, they are literally ****ed.

Ömer told his coach he wasn't feeling good and didn't play on his purpose last game. Since McHale OK'd his wish, I think Houston time is over for him when they recieve an offer that includes the 4th starting shooter for the Rockets. Like Ryan Anderson from Pelicans.

How do you think Kanter and Asik would get along player together? (just for fun, I know it will never happen)

I was @Stoked about how they would dominate the boards when Kanter came down to play in the NT. But the coach locked him to bench more than others even though he was non arguably the best contributor and a chance to win more in the roster. So didn't happen. Most of the time when he was in the game, Aşık was out. I can always see that duo as another version of Enes-Favors duo, one being a great athlete with elite defensive skills, other being a good offensive big man with great footwork and soft touch transforming into the defensive player being a legit 7 foot center with great fundamental skills and amazing basketball knowledge who can assist around the floor to the open man whether if it is the cutter or the spot up shooter.

So yeah, they can contribute great starting in the same line-up. But I still would prefer Favors for Aşık.
