David Locke spoke about this on his podcasts. So here would be the trade:

Orlando gets:

Trey Burke and the 23rd pick

Utah Jazz get:

12th pick

The Jazz take Marcus Smart and maybe Nik Staukus or Rodney Hood?

Yea I don't hate it either but I would draft different people. How do we get Hood if we are taking Staukas. Both of them are late lotto picks.

If trading with Orlando, I would rather trade #5 and #35 for #4 to ensure getting one of the big 4. If Orlando likes Smart (2 workouts already) they might bite. I would also do #5 and #23 for #4 to get the deal done, but I wouldn't start with that option. I really feel that Exum has a good chance of fitting really well in a 3 guard rotation with Burke and Burks.

Would you start Exum at the 2?

lol Jazz get fleeced in that trade AINEC. Only way that makes sense is if we know that the 12th pick will be packaged with 5 + something else to move into the top 3.

I'd do it in a heartbeat tbh.

this trade could put the Jazz in position for Exum and McDermott(or Hood, LaVine, Stauskas, Ennis or Nurkic).

from there i'd hope the course of action is signing Isaiah Thomas, Kyle Lowry or a big offersheet for Eric Bledsoe, and a backup PG like Shaun Livingston.

If the Jazz miss on those 3 starting PG's Patty Mills isnt the worst fallback option, you hopefully can still also get a good backup PG. Garrett, Burks Exum and Hayward playing point for stretches isnt the end of the world, Neto would be in the mix aswell.

Thomas - Livingston - Garrett (Neto?)
Burks - Exum
Hayward - McDermott
Favors - (Marvin?) - Evans
Kanter - Tomic - Gobert

+ the #35 pick...

that team would attack the basket the entire game

So trade top 4 talent in last year's draft PLUS other assets for a 12 pick in this year's draft? The draft is deep, but it isn't THAT deep.
