Even though he has a max contract I think he is vastly under rated by the league. Is there anything Rudy can't do? He can create, shoot, finish, defend, he has it all. It is a little weird that the Grizzlies played better without him though.
 
Gay is not going anywhere. Memphis invested huge in him and they will certainly give their ballclub a shot with a full season and full playoff run of a fairly strong starting 4 of Gay, Randolph, Gasol, and Conley. I could actually see them going after AK47 if they are unable to retain Shane Battier. The only one they may trade is OJ Mayo because his stock is fairly high after the playoffs and they may need some cap space to keep Gasol. If they would trade Mayo for Bell & the #12, I might consider that. Memphis save about $1.5m and could draft a solid Euro like Donatas who can stay in Europe for a couple years. Utah gets an upgrade and youth over Raja.
 
The best pick the GS first round pick will be 8 (any higher and the Jazz do not get it). If the new CBA requires Freshman to wait two years before entering the draft then the 2012 draft will not be as stacked as everyone thinks. I think Gay is a very good player but I think he is overpaid. I don't want another huge MAX contract. The Jazz are going to have to pay all these young guys someday if they work out.
 
Doesn't make much sense for either team, really. I don't think Gay is in the best interest of the Jazz because of his contract.
