When you supposedly have your PG of the future offering ANY asset(let alone first round picks) for an inefficient shoot first PG in a system that relies a lot on passing sounds insane to me.

do you think Jennings is better than Trey, in general?

do you think Jennings is better than Trey in Q's system? (recognizing, of course, that it is less position-focused than other systems)

Your post is seems to imply that any deal for Jennings would be a bad one. There are, of course, bad scenarios. Are there good ones, too?

Jennings isn't that inefficient. He has no floor spacing to work with in Detroit and he hasn't in a long time. He hasn't play alongside someone at talented as Hayward. He is also pretty good at not turning the ball over.

Giving up a lottery protected draft pick isn't a big deal in the West. We might not even make the playoffs next year. You have to give up stuff to get talent. Jennings will most likely be better than anyone we get in the future in the non-lottery.

Jennings is one of those players that gets hated on so much (because he was overrated coming into the NBA) that he has actually become underrated.

While I'm not opposed to the Jazz combining assets to upgrade a position, I don't think Jennings is very much of an upgrade. He's a career 39% shooter. Trey is at 38% in his 2nd season. Now I do admit Jennings gets to the line a lot more. But if the Jazz are going to give up a pick AND a starter on a rookie contract, they should get a lot more.

I think Detroit could play Kanter and Drummond together, as Drummond is a rim protector. If Kanter is going to be cheaper than Monroe as a FA, Detroit might think about it.

According to most of the forum Burke isn't starter quality. You have to give up stuff to get talent. Jennings has had a dissapointing career relative to expectations, but he is worth taking a risk on IMO.

**** Stiches and his idiotic thought process of never getting another PG ever who is good enough to start over Exum currently. Jennings is on a very trade-able contract that is going to be an expiring contract next year. It's a low risk trade IMO. We aren't getting giving up that draft pick anytime soon if it's lottery protected.
