Trade Proposal

In all seriousness, Mclemore might have been the worst player in the league last year. And in all seriousness, after a week of summer league, he might be the worst player so far in summer league - and that is saying something.

I never wanted Trey to become one of our top three players. Name one team that has won a championship on the back of their point guard? I can't think of one right off hand. Sure, the position is important, but championships are won on the shoulders of the other wing players, especially if they can help handling the ball, aka Jordan/Kobe/James/Wade. It also helps to have solid post play, San Antonio has Parker, but it's usually Duncan that has been given the credit. My point is that with Exum, we may just have this piece, so even if Trey doesn't become a superstar, we are fine, and he's plenty good enough to keep on the team. And hey, there's nothing stopping him from becoming more than that, I just don't want to use the point guard as the scoring threat in our offence.

I would like people to try an exercise. Break your index finger on your shooting hand. Let it heal just enough to play basketball, then tape that injured finger to the middle finger. Now shoot and tell me how accurate your shot is.

If Trey shoots less than 43% from the field and less than 34% from behind the arc this season then you make a big deal about his shooting.
Ok, I broke my finger earlier this year. Took about 8 weeks to heal completely. I still can't shoot worth a damn, but then again, I haven't been a decent shooter since my teen years.
Just how long until we stop using Trey's finger, rookie "allowance," "coasting" because it's just summer league, etc. as various excuses for Ice Cold Trey's ineptitude? DUDE CAN'T SHOOT! And he can't get to the rim. And he's not a good defender.

Trey will not be a long-term starting PG in the league. Trey's ceiling is Earl Watson, who was a pretty damn good backup for a long time. Watson just had no gas left in the tank when he came to Utah.

Honestly I've been thinking we might see Burke go to Sactown now that the let Thomas go. I don't want Mclemore though. I would want me a sweet sactown first rounder.

Burke isn't our future starting pg. Sell

Burke isn't our PG. But as I've said numerous times on this board, why not have Burke bring up the ball and hand it off to Exum to create?

Less pressure on Exum, Burke can do what he does best which is handle the ball & dribble, Exum does the majority of distributing and making plays.
