Trade Rumor From NBADraft.Net Involving Andre Iguodala And The #3 Pick

So you use the #3 to help the bench and get a guy with a ton of downside risk (health, declining stats...and COST)? I agree this might be a weak draft but I think you have to at least take a player you HOPE will be a starter. I'd rather have a Kanter, Knight, even Valanciunas - or hope DWill drops to #3 than take an aging vet.

And Dwill, how are figuring "huge" for every other position? Favors and Jefferson are both 6'10." So slighlty above at PF but below at center. And that's IF Favors starts - he won't; Millsap will. Harris is 6'3", not small, but not big either. And he plays "small" relying on quickness instead of posting up. Then you'd have Iggy at 6'6" and Hayward at 6'8." Match Iggy against a SG and Hayward vs. a SF and you have perhaps a slight advantage with Igoudala, but a wash or less with Hayward at SF. Turn that around and you have an advantage at SG, but then Iggy is an undersized SF.

So why won't Favors start? Because Millsap won't 'agree' to come off the bench? I love Millsap, but if that's his attitude, then that's reason enough to trade him. Favors is clearly targeted as one of the cornerstones of this franchise's future. He damned well better start next year.

Honz, who do you have us drafting at 3?
LOL!!!

I think the #3 is 50/50 right now between Kanter and Knight (well, Williams if he falls). Honz really needs to tell us who the Jazz will be drafting at #12. Hayward was not even in the discussion for most of us before Honz kept pimping him. Maybe Hionz has a sleeper in mind this year.

Favors isn't ready yet. Maybe in a year, Favors would start with Millsap becoming the 6th man. Next season, I think Corbin goes with Millsap as the complement to Al. Paul has decent range and can hit the mid-range with Al working down on the blocks. Millsap is also a good option if Harris drives and has to kick it out for a 12-15 footer.

I'm not Honz but I have this weird hunch we're gonna get one of the Morris twins with the 12th pick, most likely Marcus

Who do you feel we would most likely get rid of?

This is Kevin O'connor so I have no idea, but I'll share my thoughts.

If the Jazz FO aren't in love with their players (like used to happen to Larry) then I think you gotta look at moving Millsap. It'd be hard because how can you not love Millsap. He's a stud and I'd hate to see him on another team. But he's produced and has a great rep so he has value around the league. He could bring in a decent haul. And what with all the talk of Millsap either moving to the 3 or being a 6th man off the bench I think he's sort of the odd man out now that the Jazz have a logjam at PF.

But it's not like Jefferson isn't without his warts. His BBIQ is a little slow. I mean, going slow appears to be his strength - as long as he can take his time to pump fake 5 or 6 times he does really well getting his shot to go in, but it kind of makes him a black hole. Nevertheless, he's a talented black hole. And down the stretch it's nice to just dump him the ball and let him create something. He's taller than Millsap which ups his value. He's always been productive in the league but he's also always been on losing teams so I don't know what his perceived value is among other GMs.

Kanter is a possibility too. I don't know what he'd bring in.

Okur's an expiring contract. Other than that I don't know that he has any value in the league unless he can show he can still play, but he is older and coming back from injury.

I Kind of like this trade idea to be honest with you. Yes Iggy was injured but before any trade is complete, he would have to pass a phyiscal. Hawes would be a great addition and Meeks can flat out shoot. Plus with our 12th pick we could pick Jimmer! And the talks of AI being a little undersized is true but his winspan is 6'11" And the worst case is we have to keep AI another 3 years and then use his fat exprng contract for some youth.

and I read an article about the Hawks being frustrated with Josh Smith...Maybe try moving the 3rd pick (Kanter) for Smith. Lets Horford move to the 4 which would be a win for the Hawks and open up some money for them to resign Jamal Crawford

Maybe Josh Smith, Kirk H. for Memo/Millsap/Kanter Utah gets a great back up pg, that can play alittle sg if needed and a solid shot blocking 3, that can pass the ball quite good. Hawks might do this to pick up the cheaper contract in Millsap, add the future Center Kanter, and then try and trade Memo for the cap relief?

If we trade this pick I'll officially hand in my fan-card.

We've all been drinking the youth cool-aid, excited about a new draft pick, seeing this team grow together. That's exactly what they've been shoveling us since the D-Will trade, and when Hayword got hot at the end of the season it was enough for us to buy in. The whole point and fun of following the Jazz for the last 6 months has been the prospect of the future and our kids reaching their potential. To throw that away with some ridiculous trade (one in which we get robbed) would just be the ultimate kick in the nuts.

KOC is too smart to make this trade. Why would he wreck what he's done an oh so masterful job of selling?
