I wasn't sure what happened if the pick didn't convey, since it's unprotected the following year instead of something like 2 future 2RP's or something like that I like the deal more now.

All it takes is for one big name FA to sign with them in 2025/26 for them to be good which has happened numerous times before. Betting against the Lakers surely won't be the smartest thing in the world.

Andy Larsen mentioned on ESPN 700 this afternoon that the Jazz are monitoring the Luka situation in Dallas. If this Kyrie trade ends up blowing up in their face and he leaves in the offseason, and Luka eventually becomes so unhappy that he asks out, the Jazz definitely have enough draft assets to trade for him. He called it a pipe dream, but said the interest from the front office is real.

If we keep that pick the odds of the Lakers asking us to unprotect it is pretty damn high. Don't know what they would let us hold them hostage over a top 4 protection.
