Not if we kept JC and THT opts in.We were already out of the tax before the trade.

I agree the impact to our trade position is a big bonus.Absolutely, it is a let down, but to me the ultimate goal from this is the chance at a much better 2023 pick. So, getting rid of these players for a ham sandwich would have been a break even for me, but we got the Lakers pick too. I’m easily pleased.
Agreed on any big signings, but I think the cap space will be for absorbing trades while staying under the tax. I think Danny will be very aggressive over the next two years with trading for upper echelon players.I agree the impact to our trade position is a big bonus.
Clearing cap to sign free agents this off-season couldn’t and shouldn’t be the focus because I don’t see that being a big payoff. The bigger benefit of that might be absorbing contracts but I don’t see us making a major splash with the $30m.
Hope I’m wrong.
That’s the better use of at least half of these picks.Agreed on any big signings, but I think the cap space will be for absorbing trades while staying under the tax. I think Danny will be very aggressive over the next two years with trading for upper echelon players.

I honestly think that was the plan from the very beginning. Our team being so good changed things up a bit. That’s the better use of at least half of these picks.
Doing that with Beasley and Conley would be losing them for nothing, which I assume would only be done if Ryan wanted out of the luxury tax.I think you are mistaken because NAW is a RFA coming up and we could have declined Beasley’s option as well as not fully guarantee Conley’s contract.

So might as well get something out of it if Ryan's already dead set on avoiding the luxury tax - hence this dogwater trade.
I thought the same thing of you back when you were preaching false information about the trade. You’re better than this.
