Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

The Conley debate is exposing people
If this was a casino floor and probabilities were more like certainties I’d get it… but these guys are not dice and cards. The playmaking void Mike would leave is enormous… we don’t have enough good passers and Mike stepped completely into that void and filled it. Lauri and others will struggle at time to get theirs with JC and Sexton leading things. Mike is just so steady and such a calming influence both on and off the court.

To try to put a lighter bow on things: The first two league executives I spoke to last week after Kessler’s display, one from the Eastern Conference and the other from the West, basically had the same reaction. They said that, in their respective organizations, there’s a half-joking (but also half-serious) policy when it comes to Jazz CEO Danny Ainge that goes something like this: If Ainge is calling about a trade … let it go to voicemail.
Maybe this eastern conference executive is from the Knicks and this quote doesn’t mean what we think it means.

Mike is also a good defender. HE might not be a good man defender, but neither is Sexton. He adds a lot with his help defense and just being generally smart.

Sexton's play like 18 seconds of good defense to usually **** it up in the final 6 with a fatal mistake.

Looks like he plays hard? He does ****ing play hard. That’s who he is.
He’s a blunt force object on both sides of the court. There are times when it’s needed… then there are times when I’m like “okay you are doing great but don’t reach one more time or you’ll get whistled… ****.” He’s much better than I thought in that end. I think Collin is more effective in a 25 minute role right now where his playmaking responsibilities are limited… however his next step may be playing more like a starter over a bigger game sample.

I’m just not giving Mike away for cap space and the opportunity to develop guys… that’s all. I think it’s clear there would be some slippage however many games someone wants to calculate is whatevs…

One of the biggest argument about not giving Mike away has to do with who we draft. If we are gonna go for PG like Black... his presence would be invaluable.

He does play hard but does it in bursts… a few times a game I see him drift or have an opportunity to sprint back on D and instead he jogs.

I like him and a few times he’s definitely been helpful by being more physical than Mike. I think overall Mike is better on defense… both guys are obviously limited due to size. Collins good moments are generally louder than Mikes because he’s a blunt force object.

I also think if we moved Conley for space and draft assets we might have someone like FVV on our radar.

You aren’t. The problem is you want to be a contrarian and have confirmation bias. Why would anyone trust you to have a non-biased take on Sexton?
Saying Conley is a better defender than Sexton, a guy who has a terrible defensive reputation, is now contrarian?

Yall are such losers lmao.

You’re obviously not the only one who believes that. You’re not being a contrarian about this topic. My point was why should we trust you to be non-biased about Sexton? It’s hard to take anything you say about him with face value.

Lol come on now… I’ve seen Conley jog back too.
