Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Question. I read somewhere we couldn’t trade any of the assets we received in the Gobert trade until Sept 6. That might be one thing holding up a DM trade.
I’ve tried to confirm (or find it again) and failed.
Can anyone confirm? Do we have to wait to trade those players?

That narrative is ridiculous and I’d assume very infrequent. No one with half a brain would consider him a greater prospect than Lebron.

Doncic was the best player as a 17-18 year old in the Euroleague. I’m not asking this kid to be that. But he’s not even good. He stinks offensively.

If he doesn't bust and he becomes the best player he could possibly become with his size he will be a (pardon the overused phrase) generational talent. The kind of talent that is underpaid when they are paid the absolute max. Those are the kinds of players that allow you to add a few very good pieces around them and compete for titles.

Olowokandi had similar hype. They see someone who is a physical specimen do things guys that size shouldn't be able to or just normally don't do and the hype train begins. Soon the hyperbole sets in. "This kid could be the best prospect this year." Turns into "this kid could be the best prospect since LeBron". Or whatever. But all too often the hype doesn't pan out.

There is always a lot of risk with hinging your entire future on the potential of one draft pick. That is why it is a great situation to have multiple picks. AKA: The Jazz should accumulate as many picks as possible.

Lmao. Ralph Sampson produced and was a 3 time player of the year in college.

This kid has no accolades to this point.

No way Sampson is a top 5 player now. Maybe at his absolute peak, but he peaked in his 3rd season or so then went downhill from there. But as a complementary piece a player like that would be great.

He suffered an injury which completely changed his career. Not sure about top five but he could certainly be a top ten.
