Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I think Vanderbilt is the most likely to be traded currently.

Ainge could be thinking he wants more minutes for Walker, and the best way to do that is by trading JV.

On today's Locked on, Locke basically said he thinks the Jazz will make moves that have a 3-4 year thought process, not a 1 year. But he also said if you beat NOLA twice in a row then go on the road and then go on to beat Milwaukee/Cleveland on the road that could change things. Said if anything one is offering good first for the players we have (assuming he means the Beasley/Sexton/Conley/KO types) they would probably have to take it. Also seemed to imply we were stuck with Sexton because of the contract.
And that makes some sense and fits my general idea... just basically not one set target or master plan... make moves that help long-term. Never made sense to do a 1-2 year deal to build on our hot start (saw some saying to go get Jimmy Butler).

Couple things...

I think Phoenix is handcuffed with the sale of the franchise. Not sure they do anything other than a Jae trade that doesn't add future salary at this point.

GS may be in trouble with Steph... could see a Green trade if the diagnosis is Steph won't be back or will be out months.

WTF does Toronto do? FVV needs to start shooting straight and OG needs to get back... but I wonder which direction they pick.

Atlanta is a dumpster fire... something happens there. Coach likely canned. Probably sell low on Collins finally.

Miami... one year stealth tank? Do they push all in like Pat like to? They have some ammo.

The league is pretty wide open... I expect Bucks and others to push in for some additional short term pieces.
Yeah Detroit has already set many prices and Houston has been active trying to push Eric Gordon everywhere. Spurs are also declared sellers and Charlotte has a few pieces they want to fence (albeit I dont know who wants to take Rozier for free even for the way he has played this year).

Its starting. Lets see who joins it this year... and what will we do.

I think breaking up the JV/KO starting group could help us be more traditional and less gimmicky. I think everything they do will be with Kessler and Lauri in mind as a frontcourt pairing. Not that JV and KO couldn't be part of that... just they would need to be more bench minute type contributors. We need a bigger sample of Kessler/Lauri minutes to see how it works. Is it good defensively? Does Walker limit Lauri's effectiveness on offense? Can we still be elite on the offensive end?

Yeah, while the low is in the low-40's and the high hasn't topped 65 in a while. Pretty bracing breeze here right now. Not Utah cold, but damn cold for Cali. Is he getting desperate?
Up here in Sacramento it is cold AF... that breeze will freeze ya damn nipples off! Maybe its code for something else?

Guys lets not forget few weeks ago most were ready to trade Vando or even urging for it. Has he stepped up since then? For sure.
Ya think about this. In just 30 games with the jazz Vando has improved on his playmaking and decision making (earlier in the year he would get a rebound and bring the ball up an either something bad would happen or something neutral. Now good things are happening) he has developed a reliable corner three where none existed before, he has been making his paint floater/push shot and he has turned into a good finisher from a horrible one (remember that and one circus up and under the hoop finish last game?) Plus his defense has improved.

I would love to see what he could do in a lineup where he could get some time as a point forward. Like having NAW and beasley spotting up on the three point line and markennan and KO in the lineup too. He doesn't get much opportunity to be a playmaker since he plays most of his minutes with conley and clarkson.

Vando’s biggest value is his age. No way I want to see him traded before knowing how he develops further. Minnesota already regrets they moved him.
