Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

According to a lot of advanced stats he's still a positive impact player.

If you think about it that Simmons is only an additional year past KO/Conley, you can say your paying 40 million for a far reaching 1st rounder that will have exponential value to the Mavs in a scenario where you try to get Luka after Kyrie blows up in their face.
My simple metrics show he's an *** clown that I want no part of. On court is a different thing.

Sexton/Clarkson/Markkanen have a 107.7 DRTG and 121.2 ORTG in 376 minutes played together this year for a +13.5 net rating.

Both of those would be #1 in the league over an entire season.

You guys can say whatever you want about Sexton but the proof is right there for you.
Well one positive of trading Conley would be that we get to see a large sample size of how Sexton would do at PG.

Sexton would be a starter level player if he didnt get lost on his defensive assignments as often as he does. His 1on1 defense is decent, but almost every screen it seems he gets confused. Also seems to get his assignments mixed as sometimes in half court defense he seems unsure where he should be when the opponent is only moving to their set.

Offensively he is good enough to do what JC has done for us.. perhaps even more effectively.

Anyone want to take a stab at what our two best 4-man lineups are this year with a minimum of 95 minutes played together?

Doesn't like every team want Vando? That is a very underwhelming return.

It's kind of odd, there are a ton of teams after him, but his trade value doesn't seem to be all that high. In Tony Jones article this morning he said the Jazz currently have an offer on the table from a western conference team that would net them multiple second round picks. I've also heard Tim MacMahon and others say that they don't believe the Jazz could get a first round pick for him.

I saw multiple second round picks being the offer.

Sexton is also really good at being a 6th man and that is fine if that’s the future plan for him as well. If it is I would like to see him get about 5 minutes a game more than what he is currently. 23.7 MPG isn’t enough in my opinion especially with how well he’s been playing and plays with Clarkson/Markkanen especially.

Conley has clearly been trade baited. I think after the deadline we go to more "youth minutes" and Sexton is gonna get extended run... whether we trade Mike or not.

Just my gut feeling.

I haven't looked at many of the trade ideas thrown around here so far, but has anybody discussed:

Jazz get McDermott and 2nd rounders
Lakers get Love and Josh Richardson
Cavs get Beasley
Spurs get Russ and 2nd rounders

Seems to make sense for all four teams right? Russ gets bought out of course.

Jazz get below the luxury tax and get 2nd rounders
Lakers get two players they need more than Russ without sacrificing future cap space
Cavs get a wing for expiring Love
Spurs get to shed McDermott and get draft picks

I mean I guess you could cut out the Jazz altogether and just send McDermott to Cleveland but I think it makes sense for us to shed half a million or so to avoid the luxury.
