trade thread: Jefferson+Marvin+GSW for Boozer+Butler

So when you have a bad idea and make a thread its just "batting around ideas". But when its someone its someone else its deserving of a tongue lashing. Interesting.

I don't think this is a BAD idea. It isn't my ideal outcome. Can you see shades of grey? Or does everything look like BlakeGriffinIsDefinitelyOneOfTheGreatestOfAllTimeDraftHimOK?

First of All. I never said he was the greatest of all time. I just said he could become one of the greatest if he put his mind to it and stretched every day.

2nd of all, Blake is having a great season on one of the top teams. Not bad really.

3rd of all, I see in color.

4th of all, just giving you ****. I dont care for the trade, but have no problem with your idea. If you are down with Boozer thats cool. Most of us just arent. We dont want to invite him to the party. Ya nah mean?

My ideal scenario is that we get the number one pick. I see that as increasingly unlikely, so I started pondering how to make the team better. This idea came to mind. I posted it. I guess I also branded it on my soul, right Bevis? right Butthead? Ok.

Everyone but hawkittt realized.

If Butler isn't in the trade, then I walk. The jazz need perimeter defenders

Sure, but at what cost? I know everyone should be very happy to have a Jimmy Butler on your team. I love Butler. But you can find players that bring his most important attributes (shooting, defensive ability, grit) in a lot of places in a given draft. Theoretically. I guess what I'm ultimately getting at is that the Warriors might not make the playoffs, and in this year, I'd be very reluctant to give up a pick like that.

I'm down with Butler. The only way to get him would be to take on a bad contract. Boozer is their only bad contract. Simple.

But the pick? I'm completely down besides that.

This.

NAOS - you should read this bro.

This too, NAOS, my bro.

I know you were pumping GSW so hard earlier in the year - but injuries happen - and we saw how thin their bench is. Iggy was playing the PG!!!

I wouldn't rule out them missing the playoff AT ALL.

If I was Toronto, I would trade for Boozer in a second.

Boozer along with Gay and DeRozan is a pretty good threesome in the east that might give them a Top 4 seed.
Chicago has to decide if they want to compete or give in this year. With a 20-point win against Miami it sure looks like they are still competing and if you listen to Colin Cowherd they are a Top 3 team in the East without Rose. Maybe Toronto would give up a pick?

Toronto might be a good trade partner. If someone is willing to take Rudy Gay for a young guy and their pick, it could be a very good pick this year. I know Rudy Gay has that huge contract, but for someone like the Jazz who are not necessarily going to build through free agency, if the pick is good enough, we might get a great value.

What did we all hate the most about Big Al????????????????? That is right......................... it was his defense. Boozer the loser was just like Big Al in that regard, so no way do I want him back!

This could possibly be the WORST trade idea ever. Seriously, Boozer was a cancer on the team and Butler? You mean the SHOOTING guard who is averaging 44/39%? Respectable, but not eye-popping. In this draft, Utah can get an equally talented player with the GS pick. And Boozer's salary CRIPPLES the Jazz. Marvin either comes off the books or nets a pick at the deadline. JAzz can go out and get better value in free agency than what Boozer or Butler would bring.

I don't normally rip posts.

But Boozer? Really?

For 2 expiring contracts and a potential lottery pick?

Really?

........ as I said, one of the worst trade proposal I've seen on Jazzfanz for a long time.
