What's new

Trade

Raja Bell in his prime was a better shooter and defender than Afflalo is in his prime (right now, he's not that young). Afflalo is a better player than Bell now, but that doesn't mean he's what we're missing. The Jazz are missing another consistent offensive pillar and a defensive rebounder. Neither of those players help us at all in those categories. In fact, Millsap is better at scoring and rebounding than both of those players.

If we trade Millsap, it has to be in a package for a legit star. A pillar. Afflalo and Andersen? Come on. Lateral move at ABSOLUTE best.

Would Hayward and Price just not play for the rest of the year? Jefferson has space to operate how? Do we know if Memo will ever be the player he was? Why would NY want Elson, why would we trade Elson?

Elson makes the money work. I wouldn't want to trade him otherwise.

Afflalo can't score? He's putting up 12.5 on a Carmelo team. He's shooting 43% 3pt and just over 50% from the field. He can score just fine. Give him the looks D-Will is giving both Raja and Chucker and he could put up 16 easy. And check his defense again.

Anderson is putting up 6.7 boards and 1.42 blocks in 20 minutes. Saying he's not an upgrade over Sap in the rebounding department is laughable at best. You must not be an NBA fan.

And to be totally fair, their on-court playing time was limited to the low minutes he was getting anyway. Plus their coach was ramming the triangle down their throats when it clearly wasn't working.

Not at all. The Jazz are on the verge of being contenders and must make a move if they want to have a shot. This team is not going to get it done. The Jazz are really good but not great. They're in the same boat Atlanta is in. The only valuable trade chip Jazz have is Millsap. I wouldn't be dead set on getting equal trade value in return as much as upgrading spots where upgrading is necessary to contend. AJ and Sap run the same plays. The hole is at the 2-3 and interior defense. Anderson is a tall guy and would pair well in the paint with AJ. He'd also provide enough room for Fes to get some minutes. AA is a great outside shot and an excellent defender. Name one thing he isn't doing better than Bell. I'd trade Bell straight across for AA, but that's not going to happen.

If you don't like it then find something better that will put the Jazz over the hump. Without a trade we're looking at a nice run, but another WFC loss.

Anderson is not a center, he is 228 lbs lol. He is also 32 years old, and barely gets time on the floor anymore. So you just pissed away the second best player on our team for...Aaron Affalo?

Second best player... lol.

What do you consider "barely gets time on the floor anymore"? He plays 20 minutes a night. In that time he racks up damn near as many rebounds as Millsap does in 35 minutes, and about twice the blocks. I'll Crack a Beer! to your stupidity once again. I'll give you and Gregbroncs props on your constant mind numbing additions. You're both surprisingly consistent. I guess you easily forgot what LaMarcus Aldridge did to your precious. Guess who can defend LA?

Now go back to watching ESPN here and there and forgetting there's an entire league playing alongside the Jazz. Run along, son.
