Travis Leslie just came out to say goodbye to teammates at Jazz practice. His 10 day contract with Jazz is up, not getting another one.

wth are the jazz doing?

I've been a fan for a long time, and never seen anything like this season. Is anybody in charge anymore?

I'm sure the Jazz have only given someone 1 10-day contract before.

EDIT: I was knd of responding to your "what's going on" statement, which I see now was talking about the season in general. Nobody knows what's going on any more.

Nuts, I had high hopes for the kid. Maybe a summer camp invite? They did have 14 healthy players after all, so it's no suprise that they let him go, but it IS a surprise that they signed him in the first place.

Calm down, the 10 day was probably to just have him practice with the team to see if he would be an option to keep for next year or not. If the Jazz saw something in him after getting him under their wing and all it cost them was a 10 day contract it would have been awesome, but obviously he wasn't good enough to keep.

Why did you have high hopes for him? Because of Corbin's history of playing young players over veterans? Because of his amazing talent that has him in the D-league?

Yes, there have been other 10-day contracts in Jazz history. Marcus Cousins was the last one I remember.

My lament was for the season, this was just one more bizzare event in a season of bizzareness. Why did they bother buying out Raja and going through that entire drama just to sign a sg to a 10-day contract and then never play him.

I sorta feel like they did it to divert some of the heat they were getting for not making a move at the deadline, and the heat the team was getting for losing 4 in a row. Ya, know positvie headlines.

KoC is a genius.

Signed Jazzfanz.

Woohoo.

Can't wait to see all the brilliant moves next year.

I've never been more disinterested in the Jazz than I have been this last half of the season. This has only lowered my interest even more... Tyron has wasted this season beyond belief, so much that he couldn't even get Leslie a single second on the floor. If we had any other coach, I guarantee Leslie would have had at least two minutes of play and Murphy would have at least 200 minutes instead of 48... Tyron still hasn't even figured out a lineup or rotations that work and still doesn't know how to make proper substitutions. He's completely inept. If he's still here next year he'll waste that season too.

Yeah but to waive a player to sign a guy to a 10 day that we don't need and didn't use? Makes no sense. Unless they decided that he doesn't have what they thought he did I guess.

Leslie had been on a hot streak of 3pt shooting. Maybe they got him in the gym and figured out he really can't shoot.

They didn't waive Braille just to sign Leslie. They waived Braille once they had no more leverage to get him to accept a buyout.

That said, it is kind of weird to sign a guy to a 10-day and not play him at all.

I would tend to agree with you here. It is just that the way it all went down is really weird. Drag out Bell forever and than waive him and immediately sign a 10 day for something we don't need? Makes no sense. Makes me wonder what we are missing.

Brought him in for a looky-loo and obviously decided he wasn't NBA material. Maybe they bring someone else in. Doesn't really matter; a D-Leaguer ins't going to change the fortunes of this team now or next season. There are far more serious flaws to worry about besides who the 14th/15th guys on the depth chart are going to be.
