I just don't see it with him. We don't have NBA evidence (which would be damning if we didn't have Rudy/Favs last few years) but his G League numbers are just okay. If he was a good rim protector I could get on board... if he was a good shooter I could get on board... Outside of dropping some baby weight he hasn't seemed to make progress... the mid 40% FT shooting last year is troubling.

To me it just doesn't make sense to develop him because there are guys available at that position that represent his best case scenario (in my opinion)… they are ready now and cheap.

I strongly believe that if Rudy got hurt we'd bring someone in that would likely play ahead of him. I think the thought with him was he was going to develop as a shooter or be a homeless man's version of like Pau Gasol or something.

It doesn't have to be Booker, but I just can't see a great case for us investing a roster spot with him this year. If we do keep him, which is very likely, then I bet they pick up his option for next year at 3.5M... I just think we could find much better players that are available for the minimum. We don't have cap space next year so it isn't a big deal.

After he was drafted, Udoh became available (not the other way around). At Udoh’s price, and with all the intangible value (locker room, etc.), you don’t pass on him when you know Bradley is a project that will take most if not all the duration of Epke’s contract.

It is in this way that we’ve seen so little of Bradley.

I predict good potential chemistry between Ingles and Bradley in the PnR. Another weapon for the bench.

Bradley won't play unless there is an injury to Rudy or Davis. I think Bradley moves well for his size (because dude is thick and big) but I'd say he's average as far as movement overall. I think the comp for him is Kosta Koufos… and that guy couldn't get an NBA gig this summer. Maybe he becomes something more like a bigger Cody Zeller?

A bigger Cody Zeller would be a massive win for the Jazz. He's probably the number one reason Kemba was a much better P&R player with the Hornets than with Team USA. I don't think Bradley has that in him (though I don't think he needs to end up there to be a decently productive player).
 
Good gawd, why this fascination with scrubs? It's like wistfully thinking about that beautiful girl you liked in HS, then going to your 10 yr reunion to see she has ballooned to 200 lbs.

Trevor Booker shot 24% on his 3's last year. Seriously, we think this is a player who could ever step in and help? He was a terrible shooter when he played for Utah and is even worse now. He was a great personality. We liked him for his toughness, his highlight volleyball shot and his comments about Kanter. But he was a scrub and still is. He averaged 20 mins/per and 5 rbds. That's ok, but not great. And certainly doesn't make up for his lack of shooting. Maybe he's good enough to play off the bench for the Stars.

The entire point is he probably wouldn’t play, BUT IF HE DID, he knows how to play in the NBA AND has value off the court.

Believe it or not, those kinds of things matter too. Not all players have value as the 11th or 12th person.

In the era of point forwards and positionless basketball with one in and four out, I don't know what makes someone a 4 and someone else a 3, and why does it matter

What makes Ingles the 3 and Crowder the 4? What is the criteria for being a 4?

And if Ingles and Bogdonovich are on the floor together, who is the 3 and who is the 4?

More broadly, who cares?

I mean, I get what you’re saying, but you still need enough bruisers and rebounders out there. Ingles doesn’t eat enough glass.
