Trey Burke makes fun of disabled man on IG

@Trey_Burke3: Had the opportunity to talk to Jahmel Binion yesterday and apologize about the post on IG! #Intentionswerenttohurt #MyApologiesfam

@MLiveDetroit: Shaq, Trey Burke apologized for mocking a Detroiter with a rare disorder https://t.co/iYbJsNs9mN

Glad to see that they apologized. I just wish the disabled were treated with the same respect as others when they are discriminated against. I still feel like Trey and Shaq should be forced to do more if they aren't going to on their own.

Shaq's Sprint halftime condemnation of Sterling was very hard to watch last night.

The Jazz need to address this as an organization as well.

Where did I say they were innocent? I haven't see their comments but if they did say those things then they are not innocent. Yes there comments are hurtful but they are not in a position to affect this kids livelihood. That is the main difference so I am sure you have never joked with someone and gone over board or made comments that you regretted. I personally think Shaq and Trey should be held accountable by their employees and if they continued with the same actions then they should lose their jobs. Sterling has a history of questionable behavior and racism beside the fact that he is in a position to discriminate.

They are public figures who have sway over those who look up to them. If they are condoning negative attitudes, or in this instance, perpetuating them, then they are in a position to affect someone's livelihood. When prominent members of society reinforce the negative perceptions of the disabled, it makes it harder for on-the-fence personalities to see the positive in them.

And "us" and "them" worldview is dangerous. We are one.

Almost as weird as this dude.

I remember a thread of the ugliest players in the NBA. Also remember a thread of the "people of Walmart." We all participated. We're all guilty of discrimination against the aesthetically-challenged people of the world.

Jason needs to give all of us life-time bans.

Oh, who am I kidding; we'd all just come back as alts.

speak for yourself i DID NOT!!!!!!!!

Dude, why do you keep calling him disabled?

He has a condition where he can't sweat and makes his head look funny. If I were him, I would be offended by you call me "disabled".

Holy drama queen.

This dude's whole stance is "bullying is bad and it shouldn't happen" not "Oh I have a weird condition anyone who makes fun of me should be punished because I'm a cry baby" but Sexual Favors is making this dude seem like a pity case that deserves special attention.

So. Trey apologized? Wait I thought his account was hacked by Ian Clark. So shouldn't Ian be the one apologizing? Or did Trey post it, then realizing the heat tried to pin it on Ian? So should there be a twitter apology to Ian #lousyteamate

Yeah someone here posted that Trey posted it to make fun of Ian pretending like Ian had hacked Trey's phone and had posted a selfie.
