What's new

Trey Lyles being held out of practice/Summer League for now

The question is "If Lyles is such a Jazz type of player - what other team could be so in love with him to want to this badly to trade for him"?

I bet that's what it is. A team wants Lyles. DL tells them you'd have to take Burke, Burks and Booker as well as part of the deal.

Booker it!!!

What's with the Burks and Booker hate? Stop drinking franks haterade and get some kool-aid.

I am for trading Lyles. I was underwhelmed with the pick and if they can package him and other pieces (ok fine, Burks and Booker included) to bring in a true impact player I say do it.

No one hit the nail.
Lyles is sitting (for now) because he is part of the trade. It's not Lyles worrying about injury, it's the FO not wanting to risk damaging an asset within their trade package.

But please tell us I beg you. I will give you something!!!

Maybe Dr Jones really does/did have inside info on draft night.

I thought DL and Snyder looked 'worn out' and 'tired' during the rookies' introduction.. I wonder if they really wanted Lyles or was it a pick for another team?

I don't get the sense that they're ecstatic about the pick then when they introduced Dante and Rodney last year (or even Trey & Gobert the year before).

Well, we know Indiana likes Lyles... I also know they 'like' Burke. Seems like a good trade partner, possibly.

^Just words.

But obviously not enough for them to draft Lyles ahead of Turner.....

Plus we have no use for any of their players Hibbert especially since we already have Gobert, and they're not trading Paul George... hmmmmmm...

Dr. Jones's insider intel seems super legitimate when you look at Dennis Lindsey's quote from yesterday:

"There was a call today that I didn’t expect. And so, when could we line up things? When could we conceivably, if you will, put someone on our roster that’s a positional and/or skillset and/or fit into the culture, that, u–just a unique chemistry that our guys are gaining? …

Could there be a time where I put on the GM hat and recommend to Quin and ownership that they, this asset-accumulation deal, it’d be worth the roster spot; it’s worth the possible interruption to chemistry at a short level? It’s hard to say."
