Trey Lyles Is Draymond Green?

So I saw today on NBA TV that Gordon Hayward compared his teammate Trey Lyles to Draymond Green.
Wow.
I'm just curious Jazz fans, is Raul Neto Magic Johnson?

Draymond Green is the new flavor of the month player comparison. It's lame, and to be taken with a grain of salt.

The only player that is even remotely close to Green is in College. Nigel Hayes. I remember Green at Sparty thought he be a good pro but not near this. His athletic ability went to another level when he was able to focus only on ball with no school work. Who knows if Hayes develops ike Green, The chances are sim but he is a JV version at worse.. High IQ, Strong body player....Nigel I think goes back to school for another year.

When Hayward said that Lyles is exactly like Draymond Green, I was like, whuz? U mad, bro? pwnd?

Then I remembered that Hayward is really loose with his direct comparisons. For instance, in this interview he tells most people that he likes his wife because she reminds him of "Courtney Love, except brunette, but otherwise an exact match".

What could Hayward possibly be thinking to suggest that his teammate might be capable of exceeding mainstream expectations?

Offensively I think Lyles could one day match or exceed what Green brings. Defensively there is no comparison and I dont see that ever happening. Green is overrated these days due to his situation. Put him on the Jazz instead of Favors and nobody would talk about him much.

It's likely Gordon speaks in terms of upside, or in terms of the type of role he believes Lyles could play for Utah. Big whoop.

No. Just no.

Lyles is WAY ahead of Green in terms of celebratory moves. He has quite an array and you never know which way he'll go. You have to admit that at least.
