Trey Lyles summer league highlights

So after getting a glimpse of what Lyles could be, if him and Kaminsky are both there at #12 who do you take?
Kaminsky
(He was the guy I wanted at 12 from day one though)

He can really dribble for a guy that size. With some added strength he could play some great bully ball catching the ball on the perimeter.

If his shot ends up somewhere between good and great I think he can be really really good. If not, I worry about him a little.

I am SO excited for this addition to the team. The front office has really assembled great young players. Lyles will bring another skilled, "Jazz type" player to the mix. Gobert, Lyles, Hood were all GREAT young pickups.

Edit: and MAYBE add Pleiss to that mix too.

Really quick on the perimeter, can pass and handle the ball well for his size. Play and little below the rim and needs to improve his finishing. His shooting and perimeter play at the 3/4 will be an immediate asset for the Jazz this season, if he can play some defense.

I hope we get to see a Exum, Hayward, Lyles, Favors, Gobert lineup next season.

Im so excited for this dude. Savvy, versatile, excellent shooting mechanics. If No-IQ Kanter learned how to keep the ball high after offensive rebounds, I'm sure Lyles can learn to take that 'stabilizing-dribble' out of his repertoire.

Very much a fan of him over Booker and Oubre. I'll be damned if he doesn't round out Gobert and Fav perfectly.

I come here to admit - I had underestimated just how skillful Lyles is as a 6'10'' PF! But I still worry about certain things in his game and I still think he will have real trouble with length and athleticism in the paint.

I keep beating the same drum..... It all comes down to whether or not he can be a consistently good shooter

He has a better handle, better touch around the rim, better timing on everything and better body control than I ever expected. He's not as explosive as Lamar Odom, but his skills might be just as good, and his IQ looks better. He's also got a lot of room to improve his body and explosiveness. He's not a modest-ceiling player like a lot of us might have assumed.
