I think it also depends on the backup 5 situation. If neither Pleiss nor Withey (provided he makes the team) prove to be adequate backups to Gobert, then Favors will again have to play some minutes at center. That would open up more PT at the 4 for Booker and Lyles.

I think Lyles will appear in about 50 games and average 10 mins/per.

What are those sins, BTW, candrew? Do we hate Riley for being on an all-white team that lost to an all-black team and therefore advanced the cause of equal rights... or what? Your argument still makes no logical sense, unless you are anti-black and angry at every white person who played a role (no matter how slight) in the civil rights movement.
 
Can't we all just get along? I know, let's just find a little middle ground. Let's just all agree that KU or UK or ku ku ka cho, whoever, is not racist, but still suck in many other ways. There, now everybody's happy.

No. UK is the best basketball team of all time, period. With a racist past, that doesn't necessarily line up with what the media has portrayed. That, I can get behind.

I could write volumes on the topic. What media fails to mention is UK recruited a black player (which was valedictorian of his senior HS class) before 3/4 of the rest of the SEC ever did.
1966 was right when the civil rights movement came into full swing.
This should have never become a UK thing as much as a southern thing. Racism being real is undebatable, but the media making it as if UK was some holdout is crazy.

Here's a crazy fact. Guess who UK had to beat to make it to the Texas Western game? Duke.
Had Duke beaten UK, history would show Duke as the first all white starters vs Texas Western.

Again, I could write for days about this.
I would blame the time period for the rampant racism, I would blame UK boosters for demanding white players, fans that didn't really want blacks... It was bad. But it was bad all across the country and particularly the south.

What most people don't know is Rupp was a scapegoat. The true story is juicier. Rupp repeatedly asked to offer schollies to blacks before the '66 season. But boosters threatened to pull funds from the university if the athletic department allowed it... So Rupp was denied. So it's really more a story of a sad period in this country and not a story about one evil dude.

The UTEP thing was one thing, but more important to me was John Wall throwing out the first pitch. How in great hell could a coach ever be considered relevant to life by producing a sad sack of crap like that. That was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. Calipari or Kentucky will never have my respect after that.
