I think there could be a reasonable (and by "reasonable" I don't mean "right") argument for the positives of Trump's presidency, but the view of his supporters that he's some kind of truth-teller is bizarre as ****. He can't talk without lying or embellishing or using massive bravado. He's the most phoney public figure I can think of.
His supporters who try to argue this stuff with me never actually mention what they think he is doing right. They can only mention how successful and smart he is, how he's such a straight shooter, how he's not Obama, etc. I'm not sure they actually know what he's doing - they've just been swayed by the personality. I know that isn't true for all of his fan base, as I'm sure some of them are actually paying attention, but I don't know any of those supporters. I only know the ones who trust that he is fixing everything because he said he would.
