My family has been very lucky with our health..... Until now.
My wife has to have a minor, easy in and out surgery tomorrow. It costs $71,000! That seems insane to me. So we have to come up with the remaining maximum out of pocket amount which is like $5700. I have about $3000 in my HSA so I have come up with and $2600 more which sucks. Could be worse for sure but man does our healthcare cost a lot in this country.

You should work harder to get better health insurance. Don’t ask others to pay for her expenses. That’s communism… /s

That sucks man. But wish you guys the best. Hopefully the operation is a breeze and her recovery is speedy.

Our health care system sucks big time. And sadly, when has it been debated seriously in the last 10 years? Trump keeps talking about concepts of a plan and two weeks. Why doesn’t anyone hold him accountable for flubbing on such an important issue?

I’d love to see what Democrats could do with a filibuster proof senate majority, House, and executive branch for an extended period of time. I think they could pass some important legislation improving health care in ways we haven’t seen since Obamacare or Medicaid/Medicare was passed.

Consider yourself very lucky to have anything at all to fall back on. Most people don't. And welcome to the hellscape that is the American medical system. We've been waiting for you.

And we are also lucky that it's basically just removing some polyps. Just crazy it's $71,000
