Sorry for the stereotypes before!Between Melbourne Uni and RMIT there is a massive number of university dorms and a very big Asian student population. Considering its inner city Melbourne its still a very safe place for the most part. Like any big city there are junkies and *****ergs that cause problems but they cause problems for everyone not just overseas students. Its not race driven, its dickhead driven. I'm actually quiet surprised at how safe it is, I worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital for nearly 20 years its opposite Melbourne Uni and was surprised at how common it was to see young female Asian students walking about on their own at 3 or 4am in Nth Melbourne. If I had a daughter that age i wouldn't be happy with her doing that but there are surprisingly very few issues (probably 4 or 5 rapes and murders in the immediate area in the last 10 years.)
