What's new

Trump with slight lead nine weeks out (CNN Poll)

I wish I could figure out what this means. But it does not surprise me that you would want a friend like her. You want friends like everybody. I have no doubt that, unlike Red, you'd want a friend like Trump (which is what prompted my question). Unlike almost anybody here you want a friend like NAOS. The only guy who you don't seem to want a friend like is ncolorado, and frankly, I won't be the least bit surprised when one day you and he are suddenly the best of buds.

Perhaps I should have capitalized Incognito.

And, yeah, I don't let many people, at all, in close, but mostly want to be friendly with about everybody.

can someone tell me what's going on here?

This thread is all over the place, so just a brief response to the previous conclusory posts about how it's not possible to raise a child on $15 an hour unless you want to live a life of poverty. It’s a testament to the privilege and opportunity of so many that this is seen as a choice and not a way of living. I know dozens of individuals and families (mostly first generation immigrants from my neighborhood) that live near or below poverty levels. Raising a family with numerous children on $15 dollars an hour, with steady work and the support of friends, extended family and the community, is everyday life for a large segment of Utah's population, and it’s more often than not done with pride and an appreciation for life that’s lacking in many with more choice and opportunity.

Fantastic post.

Yes, apparently you need to treat me nice cuz I'm like you're only friend and stuff.

lol.

Poor Joe Bag. And, I'm being serious here. That dude got run over by something. Something transpired in the last 3 or so years. I've honestly started feeling bad for him lately. FWIW

Do you wish you had a friend like Hillary?

You don't have any friends who achieved success largely because of who they know or who they're related to? You don't have any friends who screwed up something at work then lied to cover it up? You don't have any friends who are willing to change their mind about an issue for personal gain?

Where the **** do you live, a Buddhist monastery?

Red said he didn't want a friend like Trump. I asked him if he wanted a friend like Hillary. I have no idea why you think your response is relevant to that conversation.

Because I wouldn't want a friend like Trump and I don't have friends like Trump. I don't have a single friend who airs xenophobic or racist views, at least in front of me. I do have friends like Hillary.

So you make about $2000 after taxes. Your rent and bills (including internet and cell phone) is around $800. I assume you need a cheaper car, plus gas. So generously, that's $1200 a month in bills. You have $800 remaining for all your other expenses, plus those of your kid...

Of course you CAN do it. But you'd be living in poverty.
That is without any sort of emergency like car breaking down, having to miss work because of injury/illness, your kid gets sick, etc.

It'd be irresponsible to your child not to apply for government benefit/assistance.
