Tyrone Corbin right name for the future?

I think Corbin is a good coach put in a tuff spot.

How upset would you be if you were Al and Millsap, who have put in a lot of work and have proven themselves to some extent, to have some rookie be taking your minutes? All because they need their minutes to develop. It doesn't make for good chemistry I bet. I think that Ty is actually being quite generous with the minutes for the young guys. Considering his situation.

Again, I want the young guys in too, but this falls squarely on the shoulders of KOC. Not Ty Corbin. Get off his back.

This situation is badddd.

Jeremy Evans even has a bunch of potential and he can't even get in the game unless someone is hurt. We are wasting valuable needed reps for these young guys. It's a joke. And you all defend KOC like he is your girlfriend

I seriously bet that it is already bothering Millsap and Al that they don't get their full minutes. I'm sure Millsap would have had a better chance at making the Allstar team if he would have played more minutes

More minutes= more stats= better chance at being allstar

This isn't good for a team to be playing this game with the starters and backups.

That's why this is on Kevin O Connor to make a change soon
Doubtful. Millsap is having an exact repeat of last season. He started off strong, then went into a slump. If anything, Millsap should play FEWER minutes and/or come off the bench. I love Millsap, but he's overmatched against most PF's. He could dominate subs as he did playing behind Boozer.

Besides, with the abundance of talented PF's in the WC, Millsap would need to average 25/12 to knock one of those guys out of the all-star game.

Did anyone really think the team would change with Ty as the coach? They kept everything in the Sloan coaching family when they hired Ty. But I think the problem is with the Miller Family. Not spending enough money to keep their good players. Trading Ronnie Brewer for nothing, not matching Wesley Matthews, and eventually upsetting Deron to the point where he didnt want to be apart of the organization. The list goes on and on. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results - Einstein. We've come to the point where we've got a bunch of mediocre players nobody else wants. Way to go KOC and Miller Family!

KOC decides who gets in the game more than Corbin does? Shut up man...just shut up. Corbin isn't a very good coach, it's pretty dang obvious. The rotations are terrible, he can't put his players in a good situation and the offense he runs just isn't that good.

I agree with u except Deron part. He disrespected Sloan and Jazz organization made the right pick at that but sure they could not think the value of Matthews, Brewer or even Korver.

Team's front court is good enough to battle except Al. No doubt he is gotta needed to get traded for opening up the spots for young fellas but also to bring the right guys for the back court. Harris is 1st scorer guy who has poor basketball IQ and needs to be in the right system to succeed. Think him in Golden state ala Monta Ellis. Josh Howard is not the right guy for the 3 position either. He is not the same guy he was in dallas who sparks the energy and bring the athletism and shooting. He just pushes hard to earn some money after this season. Raja Bell is obligation guy for the young roster to be guided but better coming off the bench.

Team needs the inside-outside balance to succeed and tough team to be covered by opponents. So, a successful trade may bring both to the team. But it is needed some brave moves by manager and especially by coach who impresses and gives the positive idea about young guys and opportunity.

illyasova,

Keep posting. You are doing a great job of explaining how many if us feel.

Also, when I read your posts I do it with a Russian accent. It makes it more serious that way.

Thx man, my nickname comes from Ersan Ilyasova of the Bucks. I have been following him since the Tulsa time before joining the NBA and I am Turkish. But my gf is russian. So not stressing totally like russians, but a bit mix accent of Kanter and Ivan Drago

Give it one more season.

I'd like to see him with a full training camp.

This.
Remember, when this team started the season and the defense was very very good? Yeah, that was Corbin with 2 weeks training camp.
But now, with lockout basketball...Corbin hardly gets time to practice with his players and when you don't practice offense or defense, you use Big Al for post ups and you let 3 pointers happen.

I do agree that Ty's rotations are incredibly awful. Especially today when the lead was cut by the bench, but Corbin stuck with his starters AND CJ! again.

I'm going to call you Boris. Deal with it.

Can you see past the moment? Do you have any foresite? Are you realistic?

Explain to me what would happen if Ty Corbin benched Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap and Raja Bell, and played them like 8-10 minutes a piece. And he started Kanter, Favors, Burks, and Hayward.

Don't tell me what the result of the game would be. But what would be the result of how those vets would react. How would that effect their trade status? How would that make Ty Corbin look as a Coach? What would the chemistry be on the team? Would we start getting trade demands? Would that be fair to the vets, who are by the way not that old? Do you even think about things like this? Ty is trying to win games. There is an argument to be made that the older guys give you a better chance to win because they are far more polished.

In a way KOC does decide who gets in the game. He picks these players and their contracts accordingly. Corbin is trying to juggle winning and developing a bunch of young guys all at the same time. That's a tuff job to do.

So you do what you told me to do.

When you find where I said that the veterans should get 8-10 minutes of playing a game, then I'll respond to you. Don't make assumptions about what you think I mean, and KOC picks the players...he doesn't pick the rotations or decides who plays, that's all on the coach.

Then explain what you want Corbin to do.

IN DETAIL

Or stop railing on him.

Do you have the solution?

Let's hear it.

How many minutes for who? And who starts?

I had no idea Ersan Ilyasova was a Jazz fan. Hardcore.

Oh, and the best solution to all the madness is to trade one of the bigs (Millsap/Jefferson) for a guard who can shoot the ball from the outside. THAT would be a huge help to fix the rotation and give the young bigs (Kanter/Favors) more well-deserved playing time.

Exactly!

And who's job is it to make the trades?

Technically it's the general manager's job buuuut a little complaining from the smaller guy (Corbin or any other guy on the coaching staff) would help out matters. Then again, you don't want to start drama. C.J. would take his 'game' straight to Twitter if he found out Corbin wanted him traded. It'd be ugly, mayne.

My opinion is we have a VERY short window to greatness. We may blow it waiting one more year.

What? I didn't know we were suppose to contend for a title so quickly.

QUICK!! Someone go tell OKC they were suppose to be this good 2 seasons ago!!

The only major issue I've had with player development and rotation decisions have been with CJ. I have no idea why he's been seeing the minutes he has.

Beyond that, KOC needs to add a wing and PG, and then it'll be on Ty if he can't deliver. Not only does he deserve another season, he deserves 2-3 before we even talk about giving him the boot.

Stability and internal promotions in the coaching staff is underrated in small markets.
