What's new

Tyrone Wallace might be decent

Can't shoot. He's a senior who shoots like some of the most raw freshmen out there. IIRC, his TS% hovered around 48% all four years at Cal.

He's a NBA athlete, without question, but especially as a senior coming out, those are extremely poor shooting numbers. Ford isn't much different.

He's actually not a great athlete, IMO, just has a nice feel for the game.

I am excited to see all our draft picks plus FOrd. I haven't seen any of them play in a game setting except for highlights.

He is a very good athlete, and it's unfortunate his feel for the game hasn't led to more efficient scoring. I would actually consider his lack of feel for the game to be one of his many weaknesses.

I watched him a lot in college and never really came away impressed in terms of his nba prospects. He's a one speed athlete that lacks burst, he struggles shooting the ball and has poor mechanics, he struggles to defend anyone with speed, he gets reckless with his handle and passes on fast breaks at times. Hopefully he can clean some of the issues up and find a way to stick in the league but I think he will probably end up in the Dleague before he finds a home.

Wallace grew up with and is good friends with a Boise State defensive back Mercy Mattson who I believe is in a CFL training camp. Mattson called him a "scary good athlete." So if someone can teach him to shoot the Jazz might have a playa.

He's just long. Not that quick, and not that explosive. I would never call him a very good athlete, but he can look like one on occasion bc of his length.

Homeytennis' post is interesting in light of this post. Maybe that CFL guy is just a poor judge of athleticism.

He probably is. Compare to other NBA players at his position, he's not a great athlete. Or ya know, just look up any scouting report on the guy. Your call.

KOC's scouting report on Jazznews says the guy is a decent defender that can't shoot a lick. He said he totally needs to change his shooting mechanics. He didn't give much hope for this guy or Paige to make the regular season roster.

I'm with ya on this. That dunk in the video was awesome but i could see a guy like bradley beal or George hill do the same thing if the perfect opportunity came up. Not something they would do often and would be surprising but I think they could do it.
I don't consider hill to be a great athlete.

Now that's some athleticism
