Remember these are just some options to fill out the roster. Not ideal players that we want but we have to realize we will need a few players like this just to fill out the team. Link below will show more players that are free agents.
Webster won't come cheap but I think people undervalue him.

Elton Brand - Unrestricted
Karl Malone is great and will do an awesome job teaching Kanter and Favors the little things to become great players. I think Elton Brand could do the same thing as a player coach. Play 15-20 minutes a game and have him teach the basics. Brand knows the little things to become successful in this league. He was an all-star before his injury and he is only 6-8. Might have to over pay a little since old guys usually want to play for contenders

Martell Webster - Unrestricted
He has his injuries in the past but last year he played very well for the Wizards.
He shot 44% from the field and 42% from 3.
Could serve as a good role player next to Hayward

Patty Mills - Player option
Has not played a ton this year but I am sure Dennis Lindsey will have on eye on him since he was apart of bringing him to the Spurs. Could serve as a good back up PG for us. He can shoot the 3 but I am not sure about playmaking ability. Might not matter if we have a starting PG who is pass first.

CJ Watson - Player option
Pretty good 3 point shooter. Could be a nice back up point guard also. Very similar to Patty Mills except he might demand a little more money and a longer term deal.

Wesley Johnson - Unrestricted
Huge bust but is a decent not great 3 point shooter. Still very athletic and will come cheap. Most likely will end up on a team like the Jazz who are going young. He will want to crack a rotation again. I wouldn't mind him off the bench for cheap.

Chris Copeland - Unrestricted
Not athletic at all but somewhat crafty and a good 3 point shooter. Haven't found much on his defense though. I think after last year he will demand a long term deal and someone will give it to him. He is already 28 and I don't think that serves our best interest right now. I think another team will over pay for him but I could be wrong.

Zaza Pachulia - Unrestricted
He could be a nice bench player to back up our bigs. He hustles and really irritates the opposing team with his play.

Byron Mullens - RESTRICTED
This one might sound a little weird but Kanter and Favors both will dominate the low post. It would be nice to have a big man who can stretch the floor a little to open up some room for everyone. He is very streaky though. If we could teach him to calm down a little play more the way Okur did he could be a decent bench player.

Wayne Ellington - Restricted
Shot 39% from 3 last year in over 21 minutes a game. Seems like a good role player. Rumors before that the Jazz were considering trading for him last year. Not sure how much the Cavs like him but we might have a chance at him.

Elliot Williams - Unrestricted

He is a unrestricted free agent. Since we are willing to let the young guys roll next year we might as well take a chance on a very athletic player. Worth the risk(injury) in my opinion if we sign him to like a 2 year deal with the 2nd year being a team option.
We need to fill out the roster. I know its not going to change the team but if the guy pans out he could be a very exciting bench player.
Just for fun

Under the Radar = Twin Towers appearing out of nowhere with a new thread after a long absent!

I have been morning over the fact that Corbin is still the coach.

But I am excited again hearing the Jazz are willing to go young next year. So at least I will get to see the young guys play even if we don't have an offense or play match ups with our rotations. Trying to stay positive.

I'm going to have to do some more research on Mullens as he may be a particularly rare type of player.

To be honest I think the Malone hire today is a first step at creating a soft landing - preparing the public for playing the young guys next season (Favors & Kanter). The thinking would be that the public will be so focussed on their progress with Karl and hopefully it makes early losses a bit more bearable.

Moreover Lindsey has been dropping hints throughout this offseason about the possibility of going young...

So in conclusion, I don't think we'll be spending a lot of money on FA's this year to be honest...

His numbers are not good at all but I don't think its his ability. His shot actually looks good. I just think he needs some direction and to not force the shot. Worth the risk in my opinion.

Agreed I don't either. I think we need to be realistic about who we are signing. I don't think we will be signing anyone over 5-6 million a year.

Ideally if we could sign Webster and Carroll than trade Marvin Williams for another expiring contract or 2 expiring contracts. Like a Veteran Big and a veteran pg.

id like to Add Jennings, Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum, Jarrett Jack and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHwC449Ni1M

also chris copeland isnt 'not athletic', hes quite mobile and skilled for such a big body, i live in NY so i watch the knicks before the jazz usually. he can shoot, and hes clutch

If he was white everyone would say he is not athletic. lol

He can't jump very high and he isn't that quick from side to side. Is he pretty mobile for a PF? Yes but he is only listed as 225 and 6-8.

For the SF position he is not athletic at all. He is very limited there. That is what he is listed as and watching him play he barely gets off the ground.

I actually watched both of those videos over the weekend. One of the biggest reasons why I don't think he is very athletic.

There are multiple articles out there describing how he can't stay in the rotation because his defense is bad. Athletically he cannot play with other SF's in the league.

You can even see it when he drives to the paint. He can't get off the ground very well.

I am not saying he is a bad player. I think he is a good player but because of his lack of athleticism on the defensive end he cannot play big minutes at the 3. And he is not big enough for the 4. He is stuck in the tweener spot.

Even in the Knicks forum they are talking about it.

Players with size who can shoot from long distances, and create off the dribble, are rare. Copeland appears to be working hard. His vertical limitations may limit his defense and rebounding. In that case, Larry Johnson would be a perfect mentor for how to leverage a below the basket game for fun and profit.

Does Chris Copeland have stiff legs that no one noticed?

Or does he simply lack the flexible "turn and go" swivel hips of an elite NFL cornerback?

Somebody get Judith Jamison on the phone!

He does have some quickness to him not great straight line speed but somewhat shifty and crafty but still lacking to play SF in large amounts.

Do you guys think the jazz will be willing to give evans a more substantial role next year?

I would like to see it, and i think it's a win win, going with our tank 4 '14 plan. But my head is telling me they will definitely be picking up other bench bigs in front of him :(

Brand wants to play for a contender - he's not going to come to Utah unless no one else wants him.

Don't want Watson - another PG by default. Not a playmaker and not that good of a shooter either.

Byron Mullens is one of the biggest black holes in the league - although it may have to do with the talent around him. The inevitable comparisons to Memo will probably frustrate a lot of Jazz fans.

I'd take Zaza - but he's kind of a cult figure in Atl. Hawks may have the upper hand on re-signing him.

I'm pretty sure Jazz will make a run at Mills. I wish I'd seen him play more.

Something must be up with Wesley Johnson - like character issues or maybe he's just too dumb to learn. Guy has a load of talent but no one seems to want to try to develop him.

Copeland is a pure scorer but I dunno - Knicks desperately needed his scoring in the playoffs but they couldn't play him because he can't guard anyone.

honestly i watched just about every minute that chris copeland played last year, so im gonna conceed and you can be the resident expert on him, ill just say this the knicks paid steve novak 20mil and hes way less athletic than Copeland, who has a nifty spin move he does when he drives... (almost like wiggins without the explosion)
Copeland is a pure scorer but I dunno - Knicks desperately needed his scoring in the playoffs but they couldn't play him because he can't guard anyone.

Copeland made more 3s vs the Pacers than any Knicks starter, and Melo and JR smith had way more attempts, and clearly the knicks dont win game 5 vs the pacers without his 3's
