Under the Radar Free Agents

Copeland made more 3s vs the Pacers than any Knicks starter, and Melo and JR smith had way more attempts, and clearly the knicks dont win game 5 vs the pacers without his 3's

And yet he averaged only 10mpg in the playoffs with 4 or 5 DNP's even while JR couldn't throw the ball in the ocean - why is that?

Don't get me wrong - I like Cope. Jersey guy, nice story. I just worry that his story is nicer than his game and someone is going to over pay for it.

because the knicks have carmelo anthony whos exactly the same size, and usually play lots with 3 guards, he shined in a bad spot last year, he needs shots and minutes to show what he can really do, im not saying we pay him Jeremy Lin $$$, im saying we should pay him Half that, and we will get a great deal

he usurped Novak's minutes last year, 1 season after novak shot 57% from 3 and the knicks gave him one of the last contracts they could afford, 20 mil... hes got room for improvement at his advanced age, still adjusting to the nba game

Some interesting names, TT. Well done. However, I don't see the Jazz signing anyone of significance. I think they want to remain well under the cap, even the floor, believing teams will be desperate to offload salaries at the deadline to avoid the huge tax penalties. And that could work a number of ways. Maybe there will be a James Harden out there - i.e. a guy who a team just can't re-sign. Or perhaps a solid veteran who can fill out the Jazz rotation, or maybe a straight salary dump Utah is willing to take on because it comes with a high draft pick. The main thing in all of this is the Jazz need to be a team that can take on payroll without giving any back. That is the truly valuable commodity. Team A trades a player making $10M to Utah without taking back players and can save $15-$20M in penalties depending on what level they're at.

Webster, Mills and Ellington are all useful players who can play defense. Aside from defense, Ellington is mainly a shooter, but he'd be the cheapest of the three.
