We should change the title of the voting to popularity contest because that’s all this is.
I think everyone already knows that?We should change the title of the voting to popularity contest because that’s all this is.

Nah, if that were true no way in hell I would be in the lead.We should change the title of the voting to popularity contest because that’s all this is.
That was terrible groveling. If you want more votes, then try harder. Come on. You can do this.We should change the title of the voting to popularity contest because that’s all this is.
I think its "vote for your favorite poster" How would "best" be determined?I think everyone already knows that?

I mean it isn't like an all nba team where each poster has a win loss record or we can look at how many points, rebounds, etc a poster has.
If that were the criteria obviously melothejazzkiller would run away with it.I see what you are saying. My definition would be basketball knowledge and total contribution to the site. Who brings insightfulness, who brings valuable information, who brings thoughtful ideas, who helps people learn the most, etc.
As I’m writing this I just realized people use this site for many different things other than talking Jazz basketball and that definitely changes how they would view posters.
Just forget all of this because I am just looking at it through that lens and nothing else. It would be fun to do different categories. I think that would encapsulate it better.
We did that a couple of years ago, kind of. Still tough to delineate and it still becomes a popularity contest of sorts, even for that kind of stuff. I mean how do you gauge knowledge? If someone posts a lot about the draft, for example, but someone else posts more about in-game activities or coach's decisions, does that make one more knowledgeable than the other? It is still guess-work, and frankly largely confirmation bias at play. I mean, we would tend to vote for the guy that posts a lot and tends to agree with us as being more knowledgeable. Tough to really make anything like that objective. To fish's point, there are no baskets and percentages to fall back on here, it is all conjecture and about who we enjoy seeing post something, as opposed to who actually brings the most (highly subjective) "value" to the forum.I see what you are saying. This is pretty much exactly how i voted.I would say if you enjoy interacting with a specific individual, or tend to like reading their posts, and are happy when you see them involved in a thread or whatever, then that is who you vote for,
Aw shucks. Thanks dude! This is pretty much exactly how i voted.
