USA in Women's World Cup

Seriously, have you seen the attendance at these games? I think the Orem Flash had more peeps watching than this world cup.

Well no one gives a damn about women's sports in the world. But, nobody gives a damn about mens soccer in this country either. That's my whole point. Wasn't it a USA-pride thing?

Yes, it IS a USA pride thing, but the popularity of the sport as a whole still comes into play. Soccer sucks, women's sports suck. So while USA women;s soccer will get more buzz than a regular professional women's soccer league (do those exist?), it will still pale in comparison to men's basketball, whether it be Team USA, NBA or even NCAA men's basketball.

Yeah, but the men's World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world, so I can see why people here would get up for the hype every four years. Women's sports? Meh. Really, the only women's sport I've seen that holds a candle to its men's counterpart is tennis.
