USA vs Mexico (Gold Cup Match)

That guy Dos Santos was fast. I don't normally watch soccer, but that dude was FAST. I've never seen an American run like that. We should stick to innovating triple bacon cheddar bugers

That was a totally winnable game but absolutely blown by the most pathetic back line defense I've ever seen.

Meh, we can still kick their *** at basketball.

Maybe, Chicharito looks a lot like Steph Curry. We might have some trouble on our hands

I think it's funny how ecstatic any country seems to get (especially Mexico) after drubbing the USA during any kind of Cup play. Fact is, if America's finest athletes grew up actually wanting to play Soccer, this country would undoubtedly field the best Soccer team on the planet.

Congrats Mexico (and everybody else) you've just beaten all of our guys who couldn't make it into the NFL, NBA and MLB. How exciting for you.

Well, no... i think it has more to do with coaching and opportunities... soccer guys are different kinds of athletes then basketball, baseball, and football players, with not a lot of crossover, maybe with the exception of corners and wideouts... I would assume at least 90% of the athletes playing soccer, would still be just as successful if the pool of talent to draw from included all MLB, NBA, and NFL guys. The number one trait for a soccer guy to have is speed and the second is probably awareness and IQ. I think really smart guys like Revis and Ed Reed would probably have a lot of success. But there's a reason a midget like Messi can dominate, because size and strength doesn't come into play as much.

But I believe the USA will win a world cup in my lifetime... and then what's the excuse.

I think alot of guards and small forwards would translate into amazing soccer players (assuming they grew up playing soccer, and trained for soccer) Allen iverson would be a prime example.

The reality is that the U.S. Will never produce world class strikers or midfielders such as messi, Ronaldo, ozil, or whoever until our beat athletes decide to play soccer. But why would they? Hardly anyone in america watches soccer.

So they're taking our jobs.....

Taking away our southern states....

Taking over our government....

And now took over the game. Awesome.

the problem w/the USA, is that our best athletes are off making millions in Basketball, Football, and Baseball. While no one really cares about playing a sport that everyone plays at age 5 but by age 10 is playing something else.

Also, our coaching is way too conservative. while other teams attack. We sit back and play conservatively like it's an Army vs Navy college Football game. Ugh.

Not just speed, stamina.

Congrats to Mexico on the 4 to 2 Victory... they just straight outplayed the U.S. I was a little disappointed in the Los Angeles crowd, no support for the U.S. whatsoever, the game might as well have been played in Mexico City.

Isn't Los Angeles just Mexico City North?

That last goal was dirty, one of the best I've seen. Poor USA, I don't think I should ever get my hopes up again for them.

Mexico was clearly the better team from the whistle. The first US goal wasn't convincing.

The US never has homefield advantage when playing Mexico. We can barely edge out supporter advantage when playing Honduras or El Salvador in the Continental US.

Coach Bradley has to go. Sick and tired of Bocanegra on the pitch and the announcers saying how great he is when he makes 3 mistakes for every decent play. Like the arm band can cover for the fact he should have been off the squad three years ago. Losing Gooch hurt and there isn't anyone on the horizan to fill the back line. Cherundolo and Lichaj look like the real deal. Why couldn't Olave be a US national. I thought Goodson has been ok this tournament.

Bradley thinks he is Fergie. Please explain Adu starting or even being on the roster. Adu had one great pass in this tourney and that was probably more accident than intentional. Adu played well for about ten minutes against Mexico then it was poor decision after poor decision.

Bradley has his boys and thats that. 20 years from now Bradley will be sending Bocanegra out on the pitch in a wheel chair. US commentators will marvel at how great Bocanegra plays in the chair whenever an opposing player mis-fires a wayward pass off the back of his head.

Tell me how Bornstein gets on the pitch ahead of Spector? Bornstein is one of Bradleys boys just like Edu. How about Bradley starting Clark against Ghana when he hadn't played in the WC up till then? Clark had no business getting that spot in that game and he personally knocked the US out of the WC. Thank you coach Bradley, way to mix things up.

Holden, maybe our best player, can barely crack any playing time with Bradley. His unavailability was disappointing till you realize he wouldn't have gotten any meaningful minutes anyway. He is better off resting so he can do the US proud in the EPL this coming season.

Mexico played great. They made US look like a third rate club. Congrats Mexico.
