Utah Jazz Pre-Season Games Official Thread

Looking at the box score and it looks like burks had another nice game. 20 minutes, 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks 1 turnover and shot a good percentage from the field.

Allen with some great shooting but 4 turnovers and 1 assist not great if he was playing the point.
Burks has been the Jazz's best bench player thus far.

My $.02 Burks, GA and Spidey had good games. Crowder blows at least tonight. Ekpe had a solid night. We really missed Rudy. Future Stars Cavanaugh, Cousins and Lyles were productive in garbage time minutes. The Aussie's leading scorer played summer league for the Jazz a year or two ago. The Stanton Kidd award goes to Anthony Drimic. He is a 6'5" guard who had 9 boards, 9 points in 20 minutes and had the Aussie's best +-. Drimic was the 2nd leading rebounder in the game to Ekpe who had 10.

Allen looked super comfortable. Didn't look like a rookie, though the other team gave him a lot of space which no doubt helped.

Guys... it’s Niang SZN be prepared.

If the nba doesn’t work out for AB and Allen then they will be co-mvps of the Australian league based on the two Aussie games.

I guess Boston Crowder is no more. Crappy Crowder has replaced him. Niang is going to get some PT...unless Jazz go small with Ingles at PF and 3 guards. Might be a way to get Allen and Burks some PT; they've both been impressive thus far.

Interesting takeaways:
1. Royce O'Neal played 23 mins and was the only Jazz player to have a negative +/-
2. Snyder was not happy with the Jazz' defensive effort in the 1st quarter. Our friend Andy Larsen reported "the talk in the locker room after the game was about how the early defensive effort meant that practice was guaranteed tomorrow." No report yet on whether the practice will be 3 hours long.

I was thinking that the first preseason game. The gap between the NBA and every other basketball league and competition in the world is tremendous. Grayson Allen may or may not see that much time for the Jazz this year, but yeah, he'd probably be MVP in Australia. He'd be an All-Star in most European leagues. Hell, if you put Rudy on any college team from the Power Five, they would make at least the Final Four, regardless of any other factor. He's probably look like Wilt Chamberlain.

I'd like to see what Georges Niang looks like taking some of Crowder's minutes, and I'd like to see if Niang can play at all next to Rudy. His shooting and passing at the 4 could be a revelation, or it could be that his lack of athleticism just keeps him from being a bonafide rotation player. If Crowder isn't going to shoot or rebound, it doesn't seem we'd be losing much.
