Utah Jazz Summer League Topic

Because our current 2nd rounders suck. If we got someone good, we would make room for them. Having a lot of 2nd round picks is good. You never know when you can package them to move up to a team just looking to draft random euros.

When was the last time a team packaged second round picks to move up in the draft?

We don't have 5 roster spots next year... figure one or two of those are euros, but still I doubt we add more than 2 rookies to next year's roster... one or two of those picks will be sold. I'd rather sell one now (forcing Tibor's salary as the sales price) and get a roster spot. roll the dice with someone that gets cut and give them a 3 or 4 year unguaranteed deal. or offer someone like Wood (not sure what his situation is with Philly, but they have a roster crunch) a bit more than the minimum and give more guaranteed money to next year to get them in the program.

Just cut him if you don't want him. Giving up an asset would be short sighted.
