I loved Kirilenko's game when he came into the league, and his enthusiasm and drive was infectious. He practically invented the move where he'd get beaten by his man and then block them from behind. I remember a game where he did it to Kobe several times. He was so far into that guy's head on that day. Kirilenko in his first few seasons was extremely fun to cheer for. But unlike Stockton and Malone and Hayward and Favors he did not improve in the off seasons, especially once he got his big contract. He came back each year as the same player or less. I never hated Kirilenko, but I can understand why some people did. And BTW, he's got the worst back tattoo in history.
He started getting 5x5's after the contract. This narrative that he never improved is false.
