Ya well you were right then. But it was for 14 minutes of one game in a blowout.
And btw I have stated many times since last night that I thought it was stupid and absurd and way over the top.
I do think It kind of became a joking/mocking jimmer thing after a bit too though. Like if he would have simply hit his first shot then I think the cheers wouldn't have been as loud after that. The fact that he was struggling so much I think contributed to the cheers strangely enough. It was a weird game in a weird season.

Leave it at that and forget about it.
Jazz don't play the Suns at home any more this year thank God.

You are comparing things that are not analagous as though they are.

The reason nobody talks about Jimmer is because he's a nobody. Where are people going to get Jimmer jerseys at, or where would they have been getting them over the last few years? Why would they be talking about a guy who has done all of his work either 8+ years ago or in ****ing China.

The comparison doesn't make any sense, and you'll have to forgive the members of our team, The Utah Jazz, for being bothered that some scrub on another team gets more applause than our team, or for a member of our team breaking a ****ing NBA record.

I never had a problem with the members of our team being upset.
I saw a poster say that jimmer gets more love than jazz players do. That's simply not true and so I pointed it out.
That poster then clarified that he meant for that 14 minutes of one game a non jazz player received more love than jazz players. I agree with that and think it's not a huge deal in an 82 game season. 14 minutes shouldn't weigh too heavily in an entire season imho. Agree to disagree I guess.

Hopefully our players have noticed all the times we have cheered for them, defended them when they get snubbed for awards, booed the opponent for fouling our guy hard or whatever, spent our hard earned money on their merchandise, tickets etc, supported them through off court issues (like jingles kids) and basically gave them love time and time again.

I wonder if there are some fans that are souring on the game experience and are tired of being criticized.
Don't be mean to the opponent. Don't be nice to the opponent.
Cheering for free chicken is stupid.
Probably get in trouble if you cheer the jazz dancers cause you might be considered to be objectifying them.

I can only speak for myself though. I still desire the live in arena game experience as much as ever (just rarely have the money and time for it) and I will continue to love this team and probably every team in the future. I will continue to go to summer league games, scrimmages, hell practices if they would let me, I will watch them when they play for their national teams.

Hopefully the players recognize the love the fans show them even when showing love to a one time hero from long ago.

I give our players the benefit of the doubt that they are better than to think a few minutes of jimmer cheers means we love them less. That is a stupid thing to think imo

This really isn’t that hard. But you’re in my prayers.
 
I'm not a huge BYU fan or a Jimmer fan (although Jimmer-mania was fun at the time). But I got caught up in wanting Jimmer to score and did my fair share of cheering and groaning at the TV. I can understand why our players were a bit confused by it all, but I'm sure permanent damage was not done to the relationship with the players and the fans.

I was much more annoyed by Booker coming back in the game to beat Karl Malone's arena scoring record. That was lame. Igor should have known better.

Regardless, it was the most entertaining end of a blow-out game I've seen in some time.

Exactly and I think this is the point the players and some fans here are missing. I've said this before but it was all in good fun for most of us cheering. We meant no harm or disrespect we were just having fun in the moment when usually we'd be gone from the stadium. I couldn't care less about Jimmer but it became a a harmless joke to get him to hit that one basket.

Worst take you've had bro. This has nothing to do with him being White it has to do with him being the National player of the year and the talk of college basketball when he played and yes, *deep breath* Mormon.

I did think Kuz's tweets about it last night were funny. I hope he does get a good amount of cheers (unless of course it is a close game).
