What's new

Utah played at a 50-win pace when Exum was on the floor and a 34-win pace when he was off.

So he starts and the team gets noticeably better. He doesn't complain or ask to start, plays the role he is given and this makes him a bitch? Please expound on these stupi...insightful thoughts of yours.

How he plays his role? Snyder asks him to be more agressive and he refuse? We have discussed this all year long where you have been?

He's still young. What did you achieve when you were 18?

Link? Please show where Snyder asks him to be more aggressive, and he refused, thanks. And by the way he was starting to be a little more aggressive at the end of the year.

one alt troll gets banned and suddenly another mysteriously shows up. How convenient.

You have to keep going down the rabbit hole. Both of them show up in sequence after a regular poster threatens to quit posting.

Hmm, Exum played with starters and our bench wasn't as good as our starters...I think the starters were more of the reason than Exum.

And our starters were playing against opposing team starters, who were better than their bench.

This is well documented, many links/ quotes, one example:

"Quin [Snyder] has made sure Dante knows it is OK to make errors from being aggressive," Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey said.

and he refused, thanks.

He verbally agreed but he generally did not back up this agreement with action on the court (only modest improvements)

I think people are too worried about the aggressiveness of Exum.

While I would start to get concerned if he does not start to bring it in year 2, I'm giving him a bit of leeway because he was so young last year, and this was his first time playing with and against this level of competition. He also had to move to another country and figure all of that out.

I think this off season will do him good and we'll see much more of what we want to see out of him.

Maybe it's just my hopes in him... but I plan to see a large positive jump offensively from rookie to year 2 from him.

We need to just relax and trust in the Snyder.

Utah played winning basketball with Dante playing within his limitations. I might understand the complaints if we weren't winning, but it makes little sense when the kid is impacting the game in an overall positive way. Some of the other posts in this thread are ridiculous. Anyone who believes Utah won games in SPITE of Dante are nuts. Fans need to give credit where due, and Dante played a significant part in Utah's success by impacting the game in a positive way defensively and not hurting us offensively. Basically, stitches' post was spot on.

Exum did help the team imo... but his numbers are slightly exaggerated also imo because of who took over when he wasn't on the floor.

Burke.

Exum Fats On = 50 Fats Off = 34 Diff = 16 Wins added 7.39
Burke Fats On = 37 Fats Off = 45 Diff = -8 Wins added -4.71

I'm pretty sure the fact that Exum helped the team overall compounded with the fact that Burke did not overall in the areas evaluated, that both numbers are a bit higher or lower than they might be if someone better was backing him up.

Also if these numbers told the whole story, we would be starting Millsap, while Evans and Hayward would be the 6th and 7th players off the bench respectively. If you want to win, that is.
Yea, Burke was bad.

I'm waiting for Cy to point out that I hate Burke.
