Utah played at a 50-win pace when Exum was on the floor and a 34-win pace when he was off.

So i was looking at the math here, if the Jazz win 50 when Exum is on the floor and 34 when he is off, Quinn should play him 24 minutes a night. (Exum only averaged 22 mpg last season).

24 minutes is 1/2 the game. 1/2 of 50 wins is 25 and 1/2 of 34 is 17 wins. Together that is 42 wins. Impressive for this young team. But if Quinn plays Exum 30 minutes that same equation would make 45 wins which is even better, maybe even playoffs.

Math is so awesome.

Utah played winning basketball with Dante playing within his limitations. I might understand the complaints if we weren't winning, but it makes little sense when the kid is impacting the game in an overall positive way. Some of the other posts in this thread are ridiculous. Anyone who believes Utah won games in SPITE of Dante are nuts. Fans need to give credit where due, and Dante played a significant part in Utah's success by impacting the game in a positive way defensively and not hurting us offensively. Basically, stitches' post was spot on.

How is this germane to whether or not Quin was satisfied with Dante's aggressiveness?

I kinda agree with this. But I think you are putting too much emphasis on winning in 2015 when clearly winning in 2015 was only a priority in that it stimulates faster player development.

I agree that his defense had a positive impact. Dante's defense was extraordinary for a skinny 19 year old. Dante can be elite with work on game and body. He may have been the third best defensive rookie guard (Smart, Payton). Maybe the second best Jazz defensive guard (Milsap). But I bet you can pretty easily find 30 guards who are better defenders than Dante in 2015. In 2015 he was not a top tier defender, he was above average.

I think people are too worried about the aggressiveness of Exum.

While I would start to get concerned if he does not start to bring it in year 2, I'm giving him a bit of leeway because he was so young last year, and this was his first time playing with and against this level of competition. He also had to move to another country and figure all of that out.

I think this off season will do him good and we'll see much more of what we want to see out of him.

Maybe it's just my hopes in him... but I plan to see a large positive jump offensively from rookie to year 2 from him.

We need to just relax and trust in the Snyder.

He just needs to me more aggressive! Dammit!
