Just because a team has a free agent they want to keep doesn't mean they keep them. You're forgetting teams like Houston, the Bucks and so many more that have space. If they use that space on their free agent, then so be it. Doesn't mean they don't have space.

You are only considering the teams that have absolute space right now but you aren't counting everybody. If you count everybody, it's like 20 teams.

This just absolutely isn't true. Houston has $88 million on the Books for 2019, not counting non-guaranteed or any cap holds.

Changing it from max space to "major contract space" is different bud. It is extremely valuable, especially if you are winning AND have the max space.

Trade clean up: Cavs sent Kings $2.1M in cash, Jazz sent Kings $1.1M cash & Cavs agreed to second-round swap rights with Utah in 2024. Cavs also got rights to Arturas Gudaitis from Sac & traded rights to Dimitrios Agravanis.

Clearly looks like getting Crowder (and his fantastic contract) and getting something back knowing they wouldn’t commit to resigning Rodney Hood this offseason ended up being the motivation for the trade.

Which is a shame. I think Rodney is better than Crowder, but I understand wanting cost controlled options moving forward. Just have to hope for a jump from Crowder (which could happen under Quin) and a secondary move to unload Burks. I’m hoping for a DMC reunion.

I will say this. . . Jae Crowder (pre-Cleveland) certainly seems to fit the culture of this team.

Yeah the Kanter situation is also how I thought of it. Except Hood and his camp have been really respectful about it. Sees himself as a starter but plays the same position as a future star.
