Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

I mean, it's smart. We have seen in the past that Hood's injuries compound themselves. I'd rather him take the time to get healthy then rush back.
When one is so soft, are they really compounding? Or is his nervous system not able to handle the rigors of being a professional athlete?

That's ridiculous
So is his "injury" history. The prominent national NBA sportswriter even has a pet name for it.

Either he's one of the softest dudes in the league, he's made of glass, or both. I couldn't tell you why he's missed 1/3 of his games besides a chronic anxiety condition which on its own is wild.

To be sure, I think Hood believes he is injured.

Yeah, he gets injured. It has nothing to do with him getting anxious. Some players just have bodies that get injured more easily, it has nothing to do with being soft.

And yes, when you have a leg injury they can compound. And I think it's a perfectly acceptable response to a team actively trying to trade you to wait til you are 100% to go back out.

I just traded Hood and Burks to the Hornets for Kemba Walker and a 2020 1st round pick on 2k18, at the deadline. If I can get it done on 2k, DL should be able to do it in real life. (sarcasm intended)

I am aware injuries compound. I think he's soft as ****. He acted like he got shot after a common, minor calf strain and had to be life-flighted off the court.

I think he's more injury-prone than the average player, but I also think he's something of a hypochondriac. And also terribly soft.

Love was a great idea a couple years ago when Favors, Joe Johnson and Hood had better trade value and our firsts didn't project to be as good. And when Love was a little younger and the Cavs had Kyrie.

Love now is too late and not worth it. Its a gamble not worth taking. He is good, but I have my doubts that he would get us too far.

I think we need to be focusing on 4 incredibly flexible and multidimensional starters to go with Gobert. I want to focus on athleticism and "good enough" outside shooting to go with that absolute terror of a rim protector. Teams are going to continue to go small and I want to do our own version of going small but having Gobert.

I don't know... Love is just 29, and he'll be a very good player for 4-5 years unless he gets injured too much. But I think the Cavs will be looking for more than I'd be willing to give up.

Love is destined to be a center sooner rather than later. He needs to be paired with a very strong, athletic, defensive power forward or at least PF/C. He will be a nightmare on PNR switches. I just don't buy Love as the guy for us. I like his game, but I don't think he fits next to Gobert for this 4 year window.
