UTEP v BYU in some bowl

There are way too many bowl games. The number needs to get reduced by about 50%. Or at least 30%. A team which is 6-6 should not be able to play in a bowl. And yes, I'm a BYU fan.

I'm with Colton on this.
Thriller I am a Y fan, so take it easy.... just keeping it real.
It will be a good game to give Jake more reps.

There are too many bowl games because they're a scam. Many bowls - especially the really crappy and really good ones - require that each school has to buy a huge percentage of the tickets (say 50% each) at full price and then the schools are forced to sell the tickets in order to not lose money. And then the purse rarely - if ever - covers the cost for the team. Teams that don't make it to bowl games commonly make more money at the end of the year because they get conference money and don't get shafted with ticket, travel, and lodging cost.

I've sadly become an expert of sorts when it comes to the New Mexico Bowl. Some of the most embarrassing performances in Fresno St. history have come in it.

I even know that the winner of the Chili Cook-Off (in the "festivities" leading up to the bowl), are winless in the actual game. I guess that's a thing to look out for you sports bettors.

I didn't want to start a thread about this, but BYU Basketball is kicking butt. They blew up a well respected Pac-10 team tonight. In fact, BYU's entire team is looking great. Just imagine if Haws hadn't of gone on a mission. Better yet, just imagine what could have been had Tai Wesley come to BYU! Jeez, they could be a legit contender for the NCAA championship.

Jimmer lit up Arizona once again. I'd love for the Jazz to draft him next year (assuming that we make the playoffs and our pick isn't that great anyway). I wasn't a believer last year. But I am now. Kid is deceptively quick, can score on the drive, and has Jeff Hornacek range. We really could use a solid ballhandler that can run our offense and take some of the scoring load off Deron. Neither Price or Watson have much range. Worst case scenario he ends up like Steve Blake.

Dude start the thread. I'll post in it.
