Utes or Cougs?

So basically you gave up. Too much effort I suppose. Figures.

Dude, you started taking generic "yo mamma" style jokes and inserted the Utes.

I have a hard time being a dick to people, but seriously that is as lame as it gets and I hope you legitimately feel dumb.

I have honestly never met a byu fan who can trash talk, like, at all. Is this a mormon church thing or whats the deal? I'm being serious.

"i have a hard time being a dick to people", says the poster who is a dick to more people, more often than anyone else on this forum LOL

Once I get home from work, I will post a post that will make every zoob on this board quiver at the keyboard and soil themselves where they sit.

Explain pls

I'm a terrible trash talker. I am not willing to to personally attack someone just to try and prove a point or raise myself above another. Is that because I'm a mormon or becuase I have always been a nice guy? I'm not sure.

Disclaimer- If you are related to me, specifically a sibling, then this does not apply.

I guess I should be clear that my definition of trash talking is to be able to talk a bunch of crap and have things get heated but it all stays within the sports realm or whatever and nobody gets real life mad. Make sense?

At most games you can trash talk with the other teams fans and they laugh about it. byu people usually get mad and I've for real never met a coug fan that can dish anything out besides getting all flustered and mad and throwing out real insults.

I just find it bizzare. Again, when I say trashtalk I mean joking around.

I realize that this could just fall in the category that byu fans are huge dorks, but maybe there is something else to it?

I don't think that's a bad thing. You are a gentleman. Trash talking is overrated. It's all just a bunch of wind anyway. What matters is the results of the game. Like last year's game. I'm still riding high based on those results. It may be short lived, but if we lose I'll just say "7 out of 11 ain't bad, plus we play in a big boy conference" and go from there.

They were actually generic Pole jokes. I can see I got to you. Nice.

You posted some stupid crap that made no sense, so I did the same, then you gave up and went all serious, and pretended you are some sort of amazing trash talker. I get you have a big ego, and think you are all of that. Why don't you just call Rome every day so we can hear our resident SLC idiot smackoff wiener. "I'm out Romie, and War that the Utes are awesome. War my poster of Star in my bathroom"

Whatever dude.

... I would say a game like the Florida St game was more embarrassing because the team tried hard and got worked, but the game last year was just some sort of voodoo fluke. Go ahead and pretend the Utes beat BYU all on their own, but BYU did enough to beat themselves last year, but go ahead and take the credit because your team was on the field and your team did a good job last year.

Spazz, I like you (sort of), but this is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen you post. To say that BYU "beat themselves" last year in a 54-to-10 romp is a cop-out of epic proportions. In the 80's, Ute fans lived through their fair share of lopsided losses to BYU, and guess what? They were beat downs plain and simple. You don't "beat yourself" in a 44 point loss. Your boys simply got their asses handed to them. Man up, accept it, and hope for a better outcome this year.

One thing I will say about BYU in that game: I remember watching the TV in disbelief as BYU appeared to basically quit early in the 2nd half when things started to snowball (I also remember a lot of BYU fans complaining about that exact same thing after the game). Some BYU fans have suggested that Kruger "tapped out" against USU by throwing a punch and getting thrown out. Hell, maybe they're right. Considering how BYU laid down last year when that game got tough, I suppose a Cougar fan would know a tap out when they see one.

That big write up thing I did was 100% cereal. I threw in like 10% exaggerated trash talk stuff but other than that, the most serious thing I've written about the rivalry.

Well then, maybe I will have to re-read it with the intention of finding out what is in that crazy head of yours instead of thinking you are blowing smoke like I usually assume.

Being a fan of Utes or Cougs football is even more embarrassing than being a fan of MSU or Ole Miss football. At least my team is in a good conference.

I could give you lessons.

My basic point was that, amazingly, with everything that has happened, byu is coming into this game full of confidence and Utah is coming in with something to prove.

Is this not atleast a little bit shocking to you? Or am I wrong and byu isn't coming into the game over confident?

You are just mad because it's true. Am I saying the Utes would not have won had BYU played error free that day... probably not. The Utes were just better that day. I am saying it is more embarrassing to play your best and get worked over like some 2 year old, than it is to get worked over half because of your own screw ups and half because the other team was better.

You can think differently, and I know there are some people that are more embarrassed by their own screw ups than from putting in a good effort and falling waaaaaay short... but that's not my take.

Yes, I accept the Utah loss as a beat down, so relax. You missed the point entirely, possibly because you think I should feel the Utah loss was the worst one ever and still hurts. It really doesn't, and I have moved on with life.

The truth that a different game hurt more than that game should not take any of the luster off of your 1984.

I sure hope the team isn't. Honestly they have a history of being a bit cocky going into a game at times.
The fan's should always be pretty confident, but that really has no bearing on the game.

Cool story. You should start a thread so you can talk about that team and their good conference with people who actually give a ****.

I disagree with your post. Therefore, I propose that we arrange to meet somewhere so we can throw our fists at each other. It's that damned important.
