Vegas lines: Utah at 40.5

If the Jazz only win 44 games, I'd consider that a mild disappointment. We've got depth, youth, one of the top defenses, and should have enough scoring to win 46 - 48 games, as long as the 'main three' guys stay healthy.

I'll take the over pretty comfortably.

BTW, Bleacher Report thinks the Jazz will win 46.

What's the risk of waiting until the day before the season starts to bet? Seems kind of risky to bet so early when you can just do it later (because of injury risk).

The risk is the line, meaning the over under win total, could move. They could also up the odds so you win less on the same amount bet.

For example, last year the line opened up at 25.5 at -110, which is where I got it. So if you bet $500 you'd win $450. But by the start of the season they had moved the line to 29 at -130. So your $500 bet would now only get you $370 AND you had more wins to make up.

When there is a good line people will start betting on it and then the book maker will change the line to make the other side more attractive. Thats the risk in waiting.

But I'll say this, I don't think the line is going to move much if at all. I think they did a good job of setting it where they will get a lot of action on both sides.
 
Fish, you'd should be praying Neto gets a starting nod sooner rather than later over Burke. If Burke starts and plays the bulk of the minutes on this team, I'm afraid you could be in trouble.

I'm sure QS will start Burke at the beginning of the season just because he's done time, but will be replaced before long because Neto.

Yeah, no question Burke starts the season as the starter. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the timing were similar to when Exum became a starter.

I agree. On the other hand, last night our shooting guards played as bad as they will ever play all year, our point guards couldnt shoot worth a crap, and we were basically playing a road game and won by 19.

Last night only made me more confident in my bet. I knew our point guards were going to suck when I made the bet..... Neto just gave me hope that they won't such as much as I thought
 
I feel like most fans/betters under-rate most of the players on our team.
I think Hayward, favors, Burks, Rudy, Booker, hood, and jingles are probably all under rated by fans that are betting on the lines.
