I like Danny Green but he looks like he's regressed. A couple of years in Europe would do him well and I think he could have a Bowen type basic outlook longterm.
But basically, no. No one looks very appetizing. People were salivating over Elijah Millsap?
I agree.
Also, it's not easy learning the Jazz system. I think that's one of the reasons some guys have struggled in Utah. Jazz can assign 3 released players to the Flash, provided they aren't picked up by another team and want to play in the D-League.
Evans has earned playing time at SF (or PF with AK remaining at SF), so the first cut is easy: Nichols.
We know what Gaines and Jeffers can/can't do. I'd assign both of them to the D-League as non-roster players. If they get picked up, no big deal. Maybe Gaines is a bit more valuable. If Price or Watson were to get hurt, you could bring him in as a replacement. So perhaps consider keeping him on the roster.
Thompson is the big unknown. Maybe just keep him around until January. If he shows good development, then you keep him around. If not, cut him and save the salary and tax penalty.
Like Sloan said, all 17 have played well and hard enough to earn a roster spot
