Wanted: Shooters

"Wanted: Shooters"

.......I thought most of you Jazz fanz want DUNKERS!.....preferrably the ones that make ESPN highlight films!!!

HUH this doesnt make since. we want players that are going to come down the court chuck up the first shot they see and miss 1 out of 5 times. that is what we want

Personally I'd rather shoot layups. Millsap can hit outside shots Hayward can, but is in a slump, Bell is now starting to hit outside shots, he hit some last night. Harris can hit outside shots when he is wide open, both Miles and Howard are capable of getting hot and hitting outside as well. Again I'd rather get a layup, however in the 4th quarter Toronto reduced us to little more than a college team swinging the ball from side to side, there just wasn't many open shots to be had.

We missed Big Al in this game we had no post up game at all, that's why there were no open shots. Most of Millsaps points were from his face up game. When Millsap took the ball inside he was always greeted by two or three defenders. Millsap doesn't deal with double teams as well as Al does, and Sap wasn't passing out of the double teams very well.

Toronto really buckled down and put all there emphasis on Millsap and took some of his effectiveness. Millsap needs to do better at involving his teammates a little more to open things up for him inside. What I mean by this is instead of forcing shots vs a double team pass the ball out and reset, and get better position. As far as the jazz missing Al I thought it hurt Millsap at the end of the game as the Raptors concentrated all their defensive effort on Millsap.

Sorry for the rant just some thoughts from watching the game.

We don't need a 3 point specialist like Korver. We just need players who can play, and hit 3 at least at around 35%.

When the playoffs come, you need to have guys (SG/SF/PG) who can hit the outside shot. Teams will pack it in. The secret is out in the NBA, play zone against the Jazz because they don't have shooters.

To say Bell, Hayward, and Harris can make 3 pts is a big overstatement. Of course they can, hell pull someone out of the audience and they can too but none of those guys have proven that they can create their own shot and make a 3 pt when it counts (especially with any reliability). It was painfully obvious that the Jazz need to start changing their attitude about 3 pts or they will always struggle especially against great teams.

I have been a big supporter of MKG but as I've watched more I would like to get Quincy Miller or Barnes. However if we got two first round picks I would pick MKG and either Miller or Barnes. Like PKM said, it would be nice to have someone be able to guard the 3 pt who is going to shoot the ball.

Based on our team needs, I'm highest on Quincy Miller. We definitely need outside shooting, and Barnes is a great shooter, but I have doubts about the rest of his game. Miller will be a good shooter (maybe not a great, but good), but he'll also be great at creating his own shot (something that really concerns me about Barnes). Miller seems to have the whole package, and I think could be a good fit for this rebuilding Jazz team.

Agreed.

Hayward has been struggling thus far, but I still think he'll more than an adequate shooter when all is said and done. So that's one good 3 point shooter already on the team.

I don't think Burks will ever be a great 3 point shooter, but I can see him averaging 33% down the road.

Now add in Miller and Rivers, and we've got a decent group of shooters, imo. Not fantastic, but enough to spread the floor for our talented bigs.

This. Don't need a shooter that's a defensive liability or can't get their own shot.

Yes we already have 2.5 of those, but ours can't get their own shot, nor make a 3.
